Could have been done differently with better results

Spielberg could have done it quite differently with utilization of a better script. It is another rehashing of the book by H. G. Wells' classic tale. What I remember most is Tom Cruise carrying around Dakota Fanning and her screaming too much to enjoy the movie. She is a good actor whose talents I think could be used much better elsewhere but where under used in this film. I enjoyed this film somewhat, as the plot was thin and there were many unnessesary scenes such as adding Tim Robbins' part. The only things that carry this film are the actors and the special effects. I prefer the 1950's version.
