Party metal at it's finest

By 1992 grunge was slowly beginning to kill off the people's interest in the glam/hair metal scene which dominated the charts for a good portion of the 80's. It's a shame that Roxy Blue didn't release this album 3-4years earlier, as they surely would've attracted way more attention. You can tell you're in for a good time just by looking at the cover of "Want Some?", which features a rather sleazey looking Uncle Sam coping a feel of a hot blonde chick's butt.
The 12 songs on this album aren't particularly innovative, but they are performed with lots of energy and skill. Roxy Blue comes off to me as a cross between Skid Row and Van Halen. The vocalist bears a resemblance to Sebastian Bach, while the guitar playing shows some Eddie Van Halen touches. The single, "Rob The Cradle" is plenty of evidence to support the idea that these guys had studied up on their Van Halen for quite awhile. Other note worthy songs are their cover of the Who's "Squeeze Box" and the midtempo ballad, "Times are Changin'". This is a fun album that went criminally unnoticed, so snag a copy if you can!
