Family DVD Series

And so the story ends with the 9th and final season of The Waltons.
Based on the life of author Earl Hamner, The Walton's is a fictional story of a rural family growing up during the Great Depression in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. It was created from the pilot show titled The Homecoming which aired on December 19, 1971. It was so well received that CBS decided to continue the story with a TV series titled The Waltons, which debuted on September 14, 1972. The series actually struggled in the beginning but after an Ad campaign in Life Magazine it caught the publics attention and ran for ten years with the final episode, number 219, airing in June of 1981. That’s a long run for a series that almost never made it. Some critics say it should have ended a few seasons earlier and I thought the story lines were pretty lame the last few years. However the show did receive critical acclaim and managed to win 19 Emmys. You will have no problem finding information about this series on the web.
