Walt Disney's Classic Cartoon Favorites Starring Chip 'n' Dale (DVD, 2005)

Love that it's a wholesome cartoon that kids love.... don't see Chip and Dale on TV so its unique... great quality of cartoons. Great choice for younger kids!

Our kids LOVE the cartoons my husband and I grew up with. So clean and sweet. Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers doesn't hold a candle to the classics - we only wish there were more! You'll enjoy!

My 4 year old is very into chipmunks, hamsters, any little critters. She especially loves Chip 'n Dale so this DVD is perfect for her! She watches it over and over again.

These old Disney cartoons are still my favorite. Whether it's the old-fashioned animation, music, or simply the presence of the constantly angry and frazzled Donald Duck, these cartoons will always be special to me. They are what I watched growing up. This collection contains some of my all-time favorites, including "Dragon Around," "Out of Scale," and "Out On A Limb." I particularly enjoy how these old cartoons are not limited by the standards and restrictions of our present day. Donald can smoke cigars, attempt to blow up Chip and Dale's tree with dynamite, and hilariously lose his temper as much as he wants. While Donald is my favorite Disney character, Chip and Dale also provide their own fair share of hilarity. Chip is the one with the brains, the responsible one who's always coming up with ideas and then thumping Dale on the head when Dale inevitably messes everything up. Dale, gap-toothed and carefree, remains happily oblivious to everything except when it comes to eating or tangling with the chipmunks' ever-present adversary, Donald. I love everything about these cartoons - the animation, the characters, the plots, the orchestral music, and their old-fashioned feel. I bought this DVD because I wanted to own some of the old Donald Duck cartoons and this particular collection includes some of my favorites.

I remember watching this movie when I was a kid and I love watching it my kids. It is still funny and the chipmunks are so cute. And it has the all time favorite Donald Duck in some cartoons also.

These classic cartoons were exactly as described. The delight of my two grandchildren's faces was all the proof I needed that I made a great purchase.

My daughter loves this movie. The classic cartoons we all grew up with are so much better than the new ones. She can sit at the t.v. and watch the over and over again. Chip N Dale is personally one of my favorite cartoons as well as hers, its one of the best out of the disney line.

i loved this dvd it had all the old chip and dale cartoons that i loves as a kid and have been looking for for a long time. This is a must have for anyone that loves the older disney cartoons.

My kids are 3.5 years old, and they love the movies in this collection. All of the cartoons on this DVD are very good (at least) and are very suitable for this age group, while still being entertaining enough for a parent who is obligated to watch them over and over AND OVER again, as opposed to some of Disney's more recent animation efforts that are aimed at this age group.

My kids' favorites seem to be "Two Chips and a Miss" (which I can tolerate, but am happy they enjoy) and "Working for Peanuts". My personal favorite is the eponymous "Chip an' Dale" which highlights the chipmunks' adversarial relationship with Donald Duck in a way that is humorous without being overbearing or outright antagonistic, as in "Crazy over Daisy" (not included on this DVD).

I have only two complaints about this collection, and they are minor.

First, would it be too difficult for Disney to normalize the volume levels across all the cartoons on this DVD? Some are louder and some are softer, which requires me to constantly "ride" the volume control to keep the sound at a good listening level without being too loud or soft for my kids to hear.

Second, I thought this collection was a bit too short, and would have benefited from including a few more of the really-good Chip & Dale cartoons, such as "In a Nutshell", "Winter Storage", "Corn Chips" or even "Up a Tree". Fortunately, these other cartoons are available on YouTube, so my kids are able to enjoy them on our Apple TV. But it would be nice to have these in full DVD quality.

In summary, this is a great DVD collection and I think it's a few steps better than the Donald Duck DVD in the same series. (See my review of that DVD for specifics.) If the Goofy and Mickey Mouse DVDs are as good as this one, then I'll likely pick them up as well. Thanks to Disney!

I own other volumes in this collection line and all are good. Chip n Dale provide laugh after laugh similar to the way that Tom & Jerry do. This collection is nice in that it introduces younger children to some cartoon classics. These volumes have toons from different years and as such the cartooning may appear different from one episode to the next.

The classic series are not trying to be educational such as Mickey Mouse Clubhouse would do, in fact Chip n Dale's antics are more like trouble making children themselves. Laughs are the objective. But Chip n Dale don't have the voilence (Blood, language, adult themes) that many children's cartoons other than Disney have today. These classic shorts rely more on visual storytelling to convey what is happening, whereas too many shows today talk their way thru the entire plot/story or try to make you as the audience feel as if you are a participant in the show. My children realize right away that today's shows don't truly have any interaction and in fact that style does not have as high of a re-watch factor for them as do classics such as this DVD.

Plus this line of videos is a great way to complement viewing of the Disney channel for a toddler thru elementary school child who has a interest in the Disney characters. My kids (a boy and girl) love the Disney cast and watching these videos make recognition of characters at Walt Disney World a joy to behold.

Arrived in original packaging as described. This was a great value for the price. I am a regular in Disney World and these DVD's typically sell for 14.99 or more. The movies are classic disney and have all of my sons favorite characters.

I bought this dvd for my four year old son. I wanted him to be able to see the old time cartoons that I grew up on. Once he put it on, he was hooked. He absolutely loves this dvd!

My two year old grandson LOVES Chip 'n' Dale. This DVD holds his attention longer than than any other. This gives me a few minutes to tend the baby or fix something to eat! I remember when these cartoons were the "short" before the Disney movie in the theater. I enjoyed the chipmunks antics then and new generations still enjoy them today.

Everything was great, but I would say the price should have been a little lower....once you pay shipping the price is just about to high for my liking.

DISNEY CARTOONS ARE GREAT FOR ANY AGE. I'VE ENJOY THEM SINCE I WAS A CHILD AND THEY WERE ON EVERY SUNDAY EVENING. I ESPECIALLY LOVED CHIP 'N DALE. THEY ARE SO CUTE. THEY ARE ALWAYS BEING BOTHERED BY SOMEONE INVADING THEIR HOME AND THEY HAVE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THERE IS ALWAYS A HAPPY ENDING.
