Synopsis Thriller-writer Jeff Long once again mines his experiences as a mountain-climber for this literal cliffhanger. Hugh Glass and Lewis Cole attempt to recapture the golden days of 35 years ago, when, accompanied by their future wives, they ascended the intimidating rock face of Yosemite's El Capitan. But just as their marriages were doomed (Hugh's mentally unbalanced wife disappeared into the desert and Lewis faces an imminent divorce), so too is this climb, which begins with Hugh's witnessing a woman's body plummeting past him to the ground.

Industry Reviews "...Long delivers a palpable sense of the Zen-like concentration and hand-straining physicality needed to conquer a big hunk of rock. A bravura, chapter-long description of a forest fire and the truly shocking ending help to elevate THE WALL far above an increasingly high pile of pedestrian thrillers." Entertainment Weekly - Gilbert Cruz (02/03/2006)
"[An] atmospheric, aggressive thriller....Long casts the dramatic natural setting as a major player in the story and imparts fascinating facts about the art of rock-climbing....[A] hurtling, gripping read." (starred review) Publishers Weekly (11/07/2005)
