UFO: Phil Mogg (vocals); Michael Schenker (guitar); Paul Raymond (keyboards, guitar); Pete Way (bass); Andy Parker (drums).Additional personnel: Mark Philips (background vocals).Recorded at Rumbo Recorders, Canoga Park, California.Although many '70s heavy metal bands had been long defunct by the late-'90s, several, such as Motorhead, Kiss, and UFO, were still slugging it out. The latter had reunited their classic line-up--guitarist Michael Schenker, singer Phil Mogg, bassist Pete Way, drummer Andy Parker, and keyboardist Paul Raymond--for a tour and a new studio album, 1998's WALK ON WATER.The band seems to have picked up right where they left off, as they wisely pay little attention to current musical trends and focus on rekindling the classic UFO sound. While re-recorded versions of the metal standards "Doctor Doctor" and "Lights Out" appear as bonus tracks, new rockers such as "Self Made Man," "Darker Days," and "Pushed to the Limit" are standouts, too.
