Synopsis 17-year-old Janie Hannagan harbors a strange, terrible secret--each night, she gets pulled into other people's dreams, where she witnesses their deepest fears and desires. Janie soon realizes she has the power to manipulate the dreams, and thus alter the subconscious development of the dreamer. When she enters the dreams of Cabel, with whom she shares a dangerous buzz of sexual tension, she is startled to see him killing a man, repeatedly. Now Janie must decide whether to try to stop this dream murder, knowing that blocking this outlet might just make Cabel more likely to violently lash out in reality. This is the first book in the WAKE series, followed by FADE and GONE.
