  • Acrobatic Dogfighting: WWII Aces offers simple motion controls that will have you rolling, looping, dodging, and shooting like an ace shortly after picking up the Wii Remote! Calibrate the Wii Remote to your liking and then unleash complex maneuvers like barrel rolls with a simple flick. Skilled players can even opt for a more authentic flight experience with two advanced control options

        A Very Cool Game

WWII Aces is a very cool game. I bought it beasause I love old WWII aircraft, and wanted to try a flight simulator game to see what it would or might be like to fly them. If your looking for half decent graphics, but not something that looks 100% lifelike, like your really there, you'll like the graphics. The planes choices are very good, but they made a big mistake in not having an American Squadron, and allowing us to fly P-51's, B24's, and maybe some F-4's. You get to choose your country, Russia, Brittian, or Germany. I love to fly the Brittish Spitfire or the German ME-109. Handling of the aircraft is very easy with the Wii standard controller. It will take a little practice, but the plane reacts very realisticly, and in an expeced manner. I highly recommend you set this game up on a TV that the sound is fed through a Home Theatre system and crank it up! When them bombs hit they shake the house, and the bigger the target, the better. As a player you can go right to a mission or you can choose to engage in a dogfight. I prefer the dogfight myself. You have three different types of dogfight simulations. Timed, where you select the maximum number of opponents you will ever confront, and you have a set amount of time to keep taking them out. Master of the Sky, where you select the number of your opponents, and when you shoot them all down the fight ends. Do or Die, where you keep fighting until you either get shot down or decide to leave the battle. You can also choose Hard, Normal, and Easy difficulty settings. During a dogfight, you can bomb towns and factories, and military installations, and make one heck of a racket, but you get no points for them. Missions even on easy I find are very difficult. The second mission on easy took me and another seasoned player four tries to get. We're still working on mission three. That degree of difficulty I would expect in like mission 12 of 15 or something. Thats a big too hard and takes away from the game. I would recommend this game, and expecially recommend it over Blazing Angels which is extremely difficuly and poorly designed.
