WWF Smackdown! 2: Know Your Role (PlayStation, 2000)

I LOVE THIS GAME. THIS GAME MAKES YOU FEEL YOU ARE IN A WREASTLING MATCH. IT WAS A GREAT PRICED GAME.

i been looking for this game and i finally find it and it was an great price to pass up and it was in mint condition and i was excellent to play it and to this day i still play and i will never give it up for anything in the world

"WWF Smackdown! 2: Know Your Role" still holds up to this day and is the best wrestling game on the PlayStation (PSone) has to offer. It is very easy to pick up and start playing. The controls are very easy to follow and learn. Gameplay is greatly improved over the first game as there is a larger variety of moves and match-types available. The game is packed with numerous features and modes which add a great amount of re-playability to the game.

The game has a tremendous roster consisting of over 55 superstars which features most of the WWF roster from the year 2000. Most of the superstars from the first game return and they are joined by a large group of new superstars. There are also various unlockable and hidden superstars including the likes of Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, Cactus Jack, Goldust, and Michael Cole, just to name a few.

This game also marks the first appearance of the Ladder, TLC, and Hell in a Cell Match in the SmackDown series as well the first and only appearance of a Casket Match! Other match types include King of the Ring and Royal Rumble. The Backstage Areas available has increased and improved and they are even more interactive than in the first game.

Season mode is 1-4 players and seemingly can last for as long as the player wishes. Through the season mode, you can earn ability points, unlockable superstars, new match types, and extra parts and costumes for the created superstar mode. The Create-A-Superstar mode is vastly improved over the previous game as you are now able to customize many aspects of your character much like in recent SmackDown games. You are still able to use the heads, torsos, or lower body of existing superstars. In addition, Create-A-Taunt, Create-A-Manger, and Create-A-Stable are available in the game.

"WWF Smackdown! 2: Know Your Role" is an excellent game that is fun and easy to pick up. With the game's numerous modes and features, it's re-playability value is very good. This game surpasses the first game and, in many aspects, still better than it's own sequel "WWF SmackDown: Just Bring It" on the PS2. So if you want to feel nostalgic or just like wrestling games, this game is for you.

like the game itself, always liked wrestling. came a little broke but just fine. arrived on time. decided to buy it to try my playstation one again for me and this game is just great for it.

The game is easy to pick up and play, and is a great wrestling based video game for the playstation 1.

well to be honest with you there is nothing that i dislike about it i dont actually play the game i use it for a boot disc for my ps2.

I bought WWF Smackdown! 2: Know Your Role for an old PS1 that I have, since there are still plenty of well made games available for the PS1. I also bought a copy of WWE DAY OF RECKONING 2 for my Gamecube, which I bought for the superior graphics capability.


Here's what I experienced:

WWF Smackdown! 2: Know Your Role (Playstation) has superior gameplay and storyline. The replay value is incredible. While the much hyped WWE DAY OF RECKONING 2 (Gamecube) has far superior graphics and game physics it just does not offer the true depth of playability, storyline and overall enjoyment that WWF Smackdown! 2: Know Your Role (Playstation) has to offer. Even the Create a Superstar mode of WWF Smackdown! 2: Know Your Role (Playstation) is more functional and enjoyable overall.

Bottom line:
WWF Smackdown! 2: Know Your Role (Playstation) is a top notch Playstation game.

It's a great game, I loved it when it came out and I loved it when I had it, but my friend borrowed it and her jerk of a bf scratched it up so years later I had to get it again...and I love it, it's when jakk was working out bugs about how to make a game really cool and even by today's standards it's still cool but the load times are a bit...well vexing to say the least...too long and pointless but once you get beyond that it's a swell game to be enjoyed by all!

I had this game and i gave it away but i am a huge wrestling fan and i like the older games and this one is the best when u enter the ring it just shows them walking doing their thing and the entrance movie is the background but i like the game and i def. think u should get it.

I like wrestling games and it was in good price and dislike is the case is broken. but the games is in good state and 5 gemes wrestling for $33.00 is good prices.

i picked this game up in late '01 at the same record store where i found the first smackdown game. i got this for $10. and disappeared in my room again.

they improved upon the previous game TEN FOLD here. the season mode is... well... seemingly UNENDING. the addition of stables, new moves, new wrestlers, new weapons, new areas, new abilities, and the create-a-wrestler mode has been COMPLETELY revamped, giving you the ability to TOTALLY customize your wrestler.
i enjoyed this game for MONTHS, and if i knew where my copy was, i'd probably still be playing it.

hell in a cell, slobberknocker, tlc but a taste of the matches they incorporated into this game. a more fluid grappling/reversal/counter system, more ways to attack your opponent, a bottomless season mode, complete customization of your wrestler... another classic from the gang at thq.

this should be a part of every wrestling fans collection.
