A Great Presentation For A Great Tag Team
Review created: 09/11/06
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

This DVD is a biography of the famous tag team The Legion of Doom. It's a lengthy feature, but enjoyable all the way through. The biography covers everything about these two incredible athletes. You'll hear about life for the two as children, how they entered wrestling, how they progressed and the unfortunate events that took place behind the scenes. Commentary mainly comes from Animal, but you'll hear friends, family and co-workers present their sides/stories/etc. This DVD provides a real indepth look, which, in turn, provides a great story. It's awesome to hear about the wrestlers as people, not just their characters. It's also great to see how the LOD progressed over the years. The extras are good with this collection - you'll get a great selection of matches, interviews, promos and other stories. It's a really good DVD set. I recommend this to any LOD fan and any WWE fan who remembers the LOD. Younger fans who don't know much about them might find this interesting as well, just to see who these men really were. If you have no respect for vintage wrestling, tag team wrestling or the LOD...well then obviously avoid this, but how could you even hate any of those? Bottom line, it's a superb collection.

  OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH WHAT A RUSH!!!!!!!!
Review created: 09/20/09(updated 09/20/09)
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

This is one of my favorite Wrestling DVDs of all time because it's about the Road Warriors, my favorite
tag team of all time. The DVD covers literally everything about Hawk and Animal you've ever wanted to
know. It starts out with Animal talking about he and Mike (Hawk) growing up together in the inner city
of Chicago, getting into power lifting / bodybuilding, training at The Gym, bouncing the infamous Biker bar,
Gramma B's along with Rick Rude, Barry Darsow and others, meeting Eddy Sharky, "training" with Sharky,
kicking eachothers butts, interesting injury stories, Ole Anderson recruiting Animal, and later Hawk to form
a tag team and their first Biker gimmick, how they picked their har styles, facepaint and how they came up
with their team name. Now they're in the NWA, some funny stories from Jim Ross and Jim Cornnette about
the job guys having to wrestle them and a really funny story from Arn Anderson and Barry Darsow about not
wanting to wrestle Hawk & Animal, and lots of stories from Michael Hayes, Jim Ross, Johhny Ace and others
until we get into the formation of the Leagion of Doom, Paul Ellering becoming their manager and leading them
to a higher platform in the business, their debut in the AWA, their title match with Baron Von Raschke & Crusher,
a great story of the match Road Warriors had with The Bruiser & The Crusher, the feud with the Fabulous Freebirds,
setting the attendance record for the first Superclash event, and their INFAMOUS match in which Verne Gagne who
owned the AWA wanted Hawk & Animal to drop the belts to The Fabulous Ones. Why was it infamous? Hawk &
Animal didn't drop the belts, beat the crap out of the Fabulous Ones, changing the finish on Verne Gagne!!

Now back in the NWA, the feud with the Koloffs, winning the Crockett Cup, the feud with the Midnight Express,
the famous Scaffold Match at Starrcade '86, Hawk being the "Alpha Male" after hours at the bars, the feud with
the Four Horsemen, learning from the Horsemen, teaming with -then- turning on Dusty Rhodes, moving to WWF,
the feuds with The Hart Foundation, Demolition, and Nasty Boys, winning the WWF Tag Team Championships,
becoming (at the time) the most decorated Tag Team of all time, bringing Ellering to the WWF, SummerSlam '92,
Hawk's abuse of drugs and alcahol, Hawk's aggression and his real life feud with Vince McMahon, Hawk joining
the Hell's Angels and quitting the WWF, the fallout between Hawk & Animal, Animal's injury and Hawk going to
Japan alone, Hawk joining with Kensuke Sasaki in Japan to form a new Road Warriors, the reunion of the two in
WCW, contract issues with Eric Bischoff, quitting WCW and going back to WWF as LOD 2000, Paul Ellering
coming back but with a new team to rival the Road Warriors, bringing Droz into LOD to elevate his career, Hawk
taking on a drunken character, the feud between Hawk & Droz and the famous Titan Tron fall, Hawk becoming a
born again Christian and kicking his drug habbits and the final match of the Road Warriors in which they wrestled
Kane & Rob Van Dam. The last part of the DVD is sad, it's about Hawk dying. A really sad story from Animal and
then Animal giving some happy news about Hawk's autopsy. All of this told by Animal, Jim Ross, Jim Cornette,
Jerry Lawler, Droz, Johnny Ace, Eric Bischoff, Booker T, Arn Anderson, Ric Flair, Paul Ellering and more.

DVD extras are 19 matches, bonus interviews, WWE Confidential segments, promos, music video and more.

Thanks!!!!

This along with Bret Hart's and a couple of others is certainly one of the best wrestling anthology DVD sets compiled so far. It features incredible matches and footage to highlight this incredible team. By far, this is the best tag team DVD set I've ever found.

very informative movie, went back very far. As a long time fan I am familiar with old wrestlers and found this to give exceptional detail as well as include some obscure older clips and promos from early in their career.

I watched these guys for years, and just had to have this dvd. Awesome info on these two incredible athletes. Yes, athletes. The time and effort put into the training to be the most intimidating men in the sport was unreal. I am sure I will watch it quite a few more times. Anybody interested in powerlifting and in need of inspiration to train just look at these guys. Dvd gave nice personal touch and insight about joe and mike.

I wanna start off by saying that the only one thing missing from this DVD.HAWK! Everyone who was a Road Warrior fan knows that they both went hand and hand.As far as the honesty of the DVD from Animal goes its pretty dead on.It gives you a look from there days in awa to nwa (wcw) to the wwe.All and all ita a must own for all LOD fans.
