two wrestling games are godlike...this is one...

As a person who's played nearly EVERY wrestling game since the Nintendo 8-Bit days. I've been able to play and enjoy all types of wrestling games. Some were good, some bad. But there are two games that are pretty much almost flawless, their so good, its scary. Those games are Nintendo 64's WWF No Mercy and Playstation 2's WWE Smackdown! Here Homes The Pain. The former presented gameplay that to this day, has yet to be matched, a simulation of pro wrestling so accurate, you felt like you were watching real life. Then there is Smackdown Here Comes The Pain. A game that has alot of things and does everything great. A wrestling game which has yet to be topped. It's not the perfect pro wrestling simulation...but its a very good one that gives the player alot of choices. What makes this game standout is the sheer gigantic number of options this game offers for almost everything and the excellent way in which it achieves those options. Loaded with every WWE wrestler from 2001-2002 plus some bonus legends of the past. Everything match gimmick WWE is famous for including the Elimination Chamber. The Elimination Chamber has been used in Smackdown vs Raw, Smackdown vs Raw 2006 and Smackdown vs Raw 2007...none of which improved upon the original as presented here in Smackdown Here Comes The Pain. In fact, with every wrestling game released after this one, the elimination chamber matchup got worse and worse. Less camera angles, no glass pod breaking, less glitter. Games shouldn't get worse overtime. Which is why this game still stands the test of time. No wrestling game for gamecube, xbox or playstation 2 has met the standards that Smackdown Here Comes The Pain met. Smackdown vs Raw 2007 even took away a few matches apparently in favor of GM mode. This is a fantastic wrestling game, great graphics, great controls, great sound and very good gameplay that along with N64's WWF No Mercy stands as one of the best wrestling games ever made, highly recommended to all wrestling fans whom want to go at it, in a video game. A+++++
