I needed another V-Tech cordless phone for another room in our house. I have had this particular phone system for about 4 years. Actually, I have 4 of them and needed another. They work great. You just program them to all work on the same base unit, which is very easy to do.

) This is an older model but has much more features than new models. Extendable phone system. Custom Ring Tones and image uploads is handy feature.

Since the auction did not state this was a refurbished product, I was disappointed to see it was scratched and some labels were worn off. My orginal handset had served me well and I like the entire Vtech 5831 system and it's functions, especially the intercom and calls log. I've had to replace one battery in one handset. Am currently having problems with the soft key used for the OFF function. Same problem existed with the new order, which arrived with a faulty battery. It appears the manufacturer is no longer using the soft buttons on their latest models.
