Album Notes
This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files.
Anthrax: John Bush (vocals); Charlie Benante (acoustic & electric guitars, drums, percussion); Scott Ian (guitar, background vocals); Frank Bello (bass, background vocals).
Recorded at Krusty's Fun House, Yonkers, New York.
As pioneers of thrash metal circa 1985, Anthrax supplied a soundtrack of aggression for the 80's and early 90's. The band also gained notoriety for the successful merging of rap and metal. VOLUME 8 shows Anthrax is as vital as ever. Showcasing the vocal talents of John Bush, the record combines traditional metal riffing with some new musical paths previously unexplored by the band. There are the acoustic undertones of "Inside Out," punk in "604" and the country twang of "Toast To the Extras." Yes, the band that brought us "Metal Thrashing Mad" are showing their fondness for Waylon Jennings. And it works! They have lost neither their hunger nor their creativity.
