Synopsis
After she chooses a cute dog piänata for her birthday party, Clara pretends it is her pet and she doesn't want it to get broken.

Clara is excited because she is going to have a pinata at her birthday party. Days before the big event, she and her friend, Samson, go to pick out the perfect pinata. Samson urges her to get one that looks like a monster but Clara selects a pinata that looks like a cute little dog. As she prepares for her party, Clara spends a lot of time playing with the pinata that she treats like a real live dog--naming him, feeding him, and taking him for walks. When her birthday finally arrives, Clara doesn't want to see her pinata destroyed but she also doesn't want to disappoint her guests. Color illustrations accompany the text.
