Excellent Movie!

One of the things I liked about the movie, was the suspense... unless one had previously read the book... there was no indication of the events that would occur. Secondly, it was clean!!! There was no foul language or sex scenes... WOW... and STILL was an EXCELLENT movie!!! I don't think I would let a younger child (all depending on the child themselves... how thay handle this type of movie) watch it, simply because of the "fear" factor. But IF it weren't for that... it would be a movie I would recommend to ANYONE! There ARE are as of intenseness and even some of the adults who watched the movie... and in the daytime... said it was a bit scary to them. This movie has been given the genre of: Action & Adventure, Drama (mostly drama), Horror, Children & Family, with a sub-genre of: THRILLER, Christian Thriller, Occult, Supernatural, Slashers. That lets you get a clue of what the movie will be like.
What I DIDN'T like about the movie? Well... it may seem "petty", but when the demons are being "cast out" of the people, there is a hoard of bugs that come out of the mouths of the people that are being delivered. There may be some reason that SEVERAL producers... not just this one... are using this technique to show the demons coming out of the person that is being delivered, but in my own personal opinion... I don't think that is realistic. I have actually seen people who were being delivered from demonic oppression, and they DO begin to dry heave (or actually throw up), as is shown in one of the scenes of the movie, but I have NEVER seen a hoard of bugs come from their mouths during deliverence. Perhaops this is done, because Lucifer (satan, the devil) is called Beelzebub in the Bible... Lord of the Flies and it is symbolic!
Anyway... I LOVED THE MOVIE!!!!
Why did I decide to buy it? Well... I LOVE Frank Peretti's works!! I was THRILLED to hear that at least ONE of his books had been turned into a movie!! I WISH they would make "This Present Darkness" or "Piercing The Darkness" (or BOTH) into a movie! PLEASE!!!!
All in all... even though one of the sub-genre's had it listed as "Christian Thriller"... I think ANYONE who likes a good suspenseful movie with a little flair similar to Stephen King, would like this (even THAT producer of "The Green Mile" had the bugs from/into the mouth... hmmmmm...???)!!!
