Synopsis
Robyn Carr continues her VIRGIN RIVER series with a moving story of a military widow on a quest for closure. Marcie Sullivan's husband was fighting in Iraq when a fellow soldier saved his life. Her husband later died from his battle wounds, but she is grateful for the time she got to have with him before he passed away. Now a widow trying to pick up the pieces, she decides to seek out the man who rescued her husband. She tracks him to a lonely cabin in the California mountains, and discovers that he is severely traumatized from the war. Together the two try to sort out their overwhelming feelings of loss. In doing so, they develop a strong connection. Carr infuses the tale with cozy Christmas themes and plenty of emotion.
