One of the best teams in baseball history.

This is a great film about the 1948 Cleveland Indians, called by some the greatest American League team in the 20th Century, bigger and better than the highly praised Bronx Boombers. It was a legendary year featuring Hall of Famers Lou Boudreau, Bob Feller, Bob Lemon, Larry Doby and Satchel Paige, (the first African Americans to play in the American League), Joe Gordon, Kenny Keltner, Jim Hegan and others. This was a team that played amazing baseball and which went on to win their first world series since 1920. Sadly their last World Series win. It was a time when baseball players were in it 100% for the love of baseball. No one personified this more than record breaking Bob Feller whose story would be worthy of a motion picture. Lou Boudreau's own story is one of overcoming hardship and physical disabilities to be the most outstanding hitter and short stop in the American League that year. This was also called the glamour team as the players in 1949 were featured in a film, "The Kid From Cleveland" and one player, Johnny Baradino, went on to be a TV star. (General Hospital) If you like the film then you should definitely look up some of the books written about the team, not all by Cleveland writers or fans.
