The Village (DVD, 2005, Full Frame)

This movie is nothing you expect itto be. I can't say to much about that statement without giving the movie away. Adrien Brody is wonderful in this movie and the young Miss howard ( daughter of RON) is fantastc in her roll. this movie really will keep you on the edge of your seat.. BUT even though it is listed as a thriler Its a movie for all 14 and up to watch.. no sex that i can remember in this movie and really to graffic scenes of disgust. This is 90 mins of purs rush and the ending is worth the who movie. Please see his movie, It wil lift your srits and you will love it. This is a 10 start movie and a keeper.. share it with friend make sure everyone gets to veiw this wonderful film.

So amy people told me it was terrible but I bought it anyways. it sat forever and one time I watched it. I LOVED IT. you have to pay attention and I bet those people never watched then endng to really understand it. I didn't care for it till it got ot he end and then I LOVED IT, the whole movie, its my fav now!

I saw this movie in theaters with my sister, a friend, and my friend's brother. Needless to say we were all expecting a straight-out horror flick but I am not sure why...what with M. Night's reputation for twists. Though I know others have disliked the Village, the four of us loved it and all for different reasons. Yeah it's a thriller and it can get pretty creepy at times, but I like it because of the love story it contains. There are such simple, sweet gestures of love that took my sentimental, cheesy movie loving breath away! The acting is superb (what exactly can Adrien Brody NOT do?), the story is shocking, and the overall effect is great!

First of all I liked the movie quite a bit. The plot has a lot of twists and turns which I really enjoyed. I do not want to get into the actual story and spoil the movie for some one but it will surly keep you guessing as to what is really going on and what this story is telling you. I believe it will keep you enthralled in some parts and also make you jump in others. The Village is very well done and great graphics and good acting. I recommend it to anyone who likes a good mystery and a little scariness and a good ending.

I enjoy a movie with suspense and The Village has exactly that. The end of the movie totally took me by surprise. It's worth watching just for the ending alone. I would recommend The Village to anyone. The first time I saw The Village was on TV, then I purchased it for my movie library.

I had seen Signs, and The Sixth Sense. I knew that M.Night Shyamalan had directed excellent movies. I had not seen "The Village" before I saw ScaryMovie4 in which it was parodied. That made it a "must see." It was very enjoyable to watch...maybe gripping would be a good word. You watch the social situations of a community in the early 20th Century. Strange things happen throughout the movie...right til the end. Bryce Dallas Howard( daughter of Ron Howard) gives an excellent portrayal of the young blind woman in this very restrained and fearful community. It is a very good movie, and only rated PG-13...soooo a good movie for family night.

Scarey but poinient. Great actors, sub-storys. Glad it was shot in the Philly area. M. Night is a genious. No Direstor or Writer can touch his creativity in storytelling on the screen!

I love this movie, It is dramatic and scary at the same time. The cast is wonderful. The whole movie will have you at the edge of your seat. It is just a true delight. It is unique and powerful. It really makes you think about life and love.

This movie was not what I expected - but that can be a good thing too. Most movies today are copies of earlier ones or just unimaginative. The Village has a good story, and great cast. At times it was slow, but the suspense was good at times. I did not guess the ending - which is a big plus to me. Give this one a try - you might like it too.

This movie, like the previews, had me going. Once I watched it, I was very dissapointed in the ending. I really don't see a point to it. Perhaps if the hype and commercials weren't so misleading I would have enjoyed it more. I bought it simply because they didn't have "Signs" on the shelf.

YOU HAVE TO BE SOMEWHAT AN M. NIGHT FAN TO ENJOY HIS MOVIES. KNOWN FOR BEING SLOW THEY ARE SUSPENSFULL AND FULL OF THOUGHT. JAQUIN PHOENIX DOES DO THE JUSTICE IN THIS FILM AN ADRAIN BRODY ADDS A SPECIAL MIX TO HIS PART. THEY DID A WONDERFUL JOB ON THE STORY, SETS AND COSTUMES, BUT DO YOU BUY IT? IT SELLS, WE ALL GET TO POINT IN OUR LIVES WHEN WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF SOCIETY AND WOULD RATHER LIVE IN OUR OWN LITTLE COMMUNITY TO ESCAPE IT. DOES THAT REALLY EXIST? MAYBE 4.2/5

I bought the DVD movie the Village, great movie! Very nice and clean. Overall, I'd recommend great movies if you're on a budget.

This is an excellent movie. Edge-of-the-seat thriller. It keeps you guessing. You can't believe the ending!!! It will scare you & make you laugh.

Not as good as I expected. Kept you wondering. Twist at the last wasn't expected. Some parts left you wondering where they were headed next.

Couldn't find the DVD anywhere in town. Postage a bit steep, but the low cost of the DVD made up for it.

I thought this movie was sort of weird and 'out there'. I didn't have the patience to watch it again and I love movies. This was a strange one.

I watched the previews for this movie when it first came out in theaters, and I was too scared to go see it. I watched it on DVD, and I was very disappointed. It wasn't nearly as scary or suspensful as I thought it was going to be. In fact it seemed almost cheesy.
