IF YOU LIKE EXPLORING AND HACKING AND SLASHING, THIS IS FOR YOU. YOU HAVE A SWORD AND AX, CHOP OFF OPPONENTS HEADS, ARMS, TORSOS... MILD BLOOD. FAIRLY EXITING. YOU GO AROUND, EXPLORE, PICK UP ITEMS, LEARN NEW BATTLE SKILLS, UNTIE AND UNCAGE MEN WHO WILL BECOME YOUR ARMY. QUESTS TO COMPLETE. I FOUND I NEEDED A GUIDE TO GO THRU THE LEVELS. GOOD VALUE FOR THE $. I THOUGHT I HAD FINISHED THE GAME, BUT IT WAS ONLY 1 ISLAND OUT OF 3. EACH ISLAND HAS 3 PARTS ... THIS IS WHERE THE GUIDE COMES IN HANDY, SINCE OTHERWISE YOU ARE AIMLESSLY HUNTING AROUND. SOLID GAME... GOOD APPEAL... This is a very good game from Sega. Anyone who played Fable on the original xbox will feel at home playing this. The controls are simple and easy to get used to and the graphocs are bright and vibrant. The game is rated mature due to blood and gore and there is plenty of it. Your viking warrior can literally chop the opposition into pieces.
The gameplay is easy to follow. You play Skarin, a viking brought back from the edge of death by Freya the daughter of Odin. You are tasked with liberating your many viking comrades from cages and posts put there by the undead army of Hel, Goddess of the underworld. After freeing enough vikings and satifying other requirements you can then lay the enemy stronghold in seige and attempt to takeover the place. This all plays out in giant free for all while you cut your way to the shaman or champion or giant that is your targets to taking over.

Good thing I rented this game because it is booorrrriinnnggg.I found myself playing this with my eyes closed because it's so damn repetitive.So damn repetitive.So damn repetitive.Get it yet?You walk around this tiny ass map...and trust me it is tiny freeing your fellow viking friends who are either locked up in some boney dinosaur cage or tied up to some cheap looking tree branch,which by the way looks like they can break out without any help.You use alot of the A button or X and you're constantly pressing B to either free your members,open chests,or doing some other boring job which requires you to press B.
The main monster bosses aren't a challenge.A little slice and dice action and...yay another crappy key to open another crappy door for another crappy boss.It has some wannabe God of War button mashing,for example you press the button that comes onto the screen,which by the way is not that hard.I see myself pressing a certain button that pops up then constantly mashing the same button afterwards.Same button afterwards.Same button afterwards.And yet that's all you do,is use the same button afterwards.

It has the carnage. Worlds are vast and open. I didn't like having to go back and forth re-fighting the enemies you just killed as they constantly respawn. Objectives weren't always clear.

This game is very good. I loved that there was a story behind the main character. He was to rid his world of evil or the Goddess Hel. I bought this because a friend showed me it and it seemed very interesting. I love the basis of it so far and reccommend to any 3rd person shooter or RTS fan. One of my greatest investments to date.

Bought this game after playing a demo at a gamestore, took close to 30 hours to complete, great visual graphics and great gory action.
Great old-school story with a solid presentation with a lot of small battles that lead to big 5 to 10 minute epic battles,
only issue towards the end is the repetitive gameplay stops it from becoming a classic.

I thought this game was actually really fun if you like hack and slash games, I'm a big fan of God of War 1 and 2, so I was looking for something for xbox 360 that was kinda like it, this game was basically like it. I wish you could get different weapons though, you have the same sword and axe the whole game, but otherwise this game was exactly what I expected.

Its a very fun game. The fighting isnt as fluid as it could be but still its nice to hack things up for a change. Battles are fun and long and the sneaking gives it more depth, but there are not enough levels.

Unique RPGI've spent a lot of time on this game so far, and have not been disappointed. The graphics are pretty nice, but at some points you might feel the game becoming a little repetitive. Overall though it has good graphic effects, and great game play. My only disappointment on this item is that it is not Xbox Live, but still a great game to have, and very fun to play.

asgard!!!Set in the time when the Norse Gods ruled and people hid gold in glowing urns for some inexplicable reason, Viking, the latest from SEGA and Creative Assembly, tosses you into the massive boots of Skarin, a shirtless warrior who packs a sword and battleaxe. The game opens with Skarin mortally wounded and about to take a one-way trip to Valhalla, but Freya -- Odin's daughter -- steps in to save the Schwarzenegger-like brute as long as he pledges allegiance to her and promises to go after Hel, queen of the Underworld. Skarin agrees, gets this glowing amulet from Freya, and we're off!

Good if you want some quick actionI think the game is really simple, if you want a challenge, this is probably not the game for you. It is a nice hacking and slashing game though. All the blood and gore is nice, but its pretty much a button masher, (No skill required). Game isnt very long, but the gameplay is pretty good.

The game was fun for 2 hours then I lost all care for the game and its storyline. Very boring I ended up giving it away for free. One of the game you should buy from gamestop used so you can return in 7 days if you don;t like it.

TONS OF FUN!
) Love the game and the action. Good story, side quests. Long play! The quick travel and the image base is great. Never saw water look so real. The NPC interactions are a bit weak, but other than that I really liked the game. I wish it would have taken longer to finish. Did it in about 8 days.

This game reminds me so much of God of War, the fighting system are so alike, so if you like the God of War series, you have to pick up this game and try it for yourself, I'm not much of a review writer so that's all I have to say.

MUST PLAYthis is one of the best games i have played for any system. For some reason alot of people didnt give it a good review but i though the game brought alot to the table. It has amazing graphics, huge maps a good range of characters, and crazy fight moves. I would recomend that everyone who like video games like gears of war or call of duty play this game its really fun and you wont be disappointed.

Good clean, gory funI rented this game a while ago, and had this itch to play it again. I found it for quite cheap on here so I bought it. Sure enough as soon as I started playing it again, the rush was back. I just love the barbarian theme games especially when they are done right. This game isn't perfect, but it sure is fun.

This is the first strategy guide I've had that does not give a clue about the missions or anything like that. It doesn't even tell you what to do while your in training. The game by the way is awesome once you get the hang of it.
