LCD Monitors need newer video card

I had a 21 inch CRT monitor that was going bad so I thought I would replace it with one of these 20.1 inch LCD models. Nowhere on the box or in the sparce literature that was sent with it, did I see any mention of the fact that these things do not work well with video cards that are more than about 1 year old. I had to call tech support to get the thing to work at all. It is nice and bright but with my 2 year old video card, I am not able to get the correct resolution so the display is slighly warped out of shape. When you look at photos of people, they are shorter and wider than they should appear. In fact, there is only one resolution that I can use or I will not see anything at all. Also, there is a faint flickering which probably would disappear if I replaced my video card. All in all, I think it is a great monitor but you need a good quality video card with DVI output to drive it and do not expect much help from the extremely small instruction booklet.
