Good Clean Fun...

This series, starring British comedianne Dawn French, is one of the best cures for any doldrums that you may be in... Even though, as a family, we've already seen all of the episodes that were ever aired, we still laugh out loud when we watch these characters.
The story is set in a small inland town (Dibley) whose truly ancient Vicar drops dead after 60+ years at the pulpit. The church sends a woman vicar to replace him (in this quirky town) and the ongoing tale revolves around the interactions between the folk and the church and the vicar.
What makes this series astounding is not the comedic timing, (which is excellant), or the production values, ( whicha r ethe standard of the day), but the honest portrayal of real people. Each of the characters is flawed and still approachable... they don't, as so many theatrical productions do, find the extreme to throw into our lives to see what happens (Gee.. what if a zombie serial killer got a day-job in the school cafeteria?). This is just simple thoughtful lives that unfold with cherishable humor and delight.
I reccomend this series for anyone.
