This was a dvd i simply had to have.Like millions of other American kids growing up in the sixties,watching the Ed Sullivan show was a ritual performed every sunday after dinner. Carol Burnette does a nice job of narration.If you're a sixties music fan you'll see some awesome Beatles footage including their first American appearance on the show, some wonderful Elvis Presley songs,not to mention The Doors doing LIGHT MY FIRE, of which they were supped to leave out he word "higher".Of course Jim Morrison was never one for letting anyone infringe on his artistic freeedom.Doors fans know the rest of this story.I could rave on about this one for a long time, but suffice it to say... if you wax nostalgic for Judy Garland,Elvis,Jackie Mason,Richard Pryor,rolling stones, The Supremes,Young Rascals etc, etc...give it a shot. It rocks!!

I bought this for my dad for Christmas and he has not stopped thanking me!!!! He enjoyed this much more than a shirt (ha-ha).

This is a great DVD that takes the viewer back to a time of great televison. They will never makes shows like this again in Hollywood. It is a nice diversion from the junk on the airwaves today. Let's hope the producers of these old shows on DVD keep 'em coming. They are priceless.

Interesting memories from the past! For those of you who actually remeber Ed Sullivan! (I actually remeber the Beatles first appearance) Where else can you get a glimpse of way back when if not on the "really big shoooo" of Ed Sullivan?

This dvd was great entertainment for the whole family. Fun for everyone from my 10 year old daughter to my 78 year old father and everyone in between. A great conversation piece for us to discuss for weeks after watching.

This program, hosted by Carol Burnett, shows film clips of some of the most famous performers who appeared on the Ed Sullivan show. I remember watching the Ed Sullivan show when I was a kid growing up in the 1960's. That is why I bought this product. For me it brought back a lot of memories. It shows many famous as well as controversial performances. For example, comedian Jackie Mason's closing of his performance visibly angered Ed Sullivan. It also shows a clip of the Beatles first appearance on the show. For anyone who enjoys wholesome entertainment I would highly recommend that they watch this program.
