The Venus Wars (DVD, 2003)

I am a huge anime fan and this is one of the original tittles I added to my collection in the beginning. Set in the future on Venus, Io City is being invaded by neighboring Ishtar and the story follows a Monobike racing team as they are caught in the middle. This movie has a strong feel similar to World War II stories about society in occupied allied countries and follows the resistance as they struggle to regain freedom for their country. From the single wheeled bikes called "Mono-bikes" to the eight-tracked mammoth tanks called "Octo's", this anime has a very original feel to it. The characters are all passionate and raise questions in ourselves. How would you act if that happened to you? You get to see the characters develop and you can't help but admire the youthful abandon they have, as they make their choices. Action packed with a good story, you are eager to see how the story ends and not disappointed as you watch the characters learn and grow during the adventure.

PROS - Unique action packed tittle full of adventure and danger set in a world you can relate to.

CONS- I would have enjoyed it greatly if this was part of a series, but we will have to settle for one complete movie.

Venus Wars was a steal of a puchase compared to the quality and price of the transaction! This is one of the first anime cartoons I have ever watched, and I could buy it on eBay for a great price! Purchases like these will definitely keep me coming back to sell & buy on eBay!!!
