If you have a Genesis you have to own this game!

Vectorman, like Comix Zone, is a great example of what the Sega Genesis was capable of in terms of graphics and sound. You never really saw games like this before, especially on a home console. The controls are spot on making it all the more fun to play and not just look at. Be warned though, this is a hard game. Even on the easiest setting it can frustratingly difficult. But that makes it all the more satisfying when you beat it. If, however, you can't beat it use the code "c, a, left, left, a, c, a, b" and warp to the last level. Get it? Call a cab?

  Great Genesis Game

This is a great shooter/side scrolling/Platforming game. For the Genesis the graphics are quite good and was able to pull off early 3D backgrounds. The controls are great and the game play is even more addicting. It's music is pretty good to for the Genesis also. There are several different kinds of games plays in it. So the game has a good variety to it. Also different weapons to it also.
The story of the game is nothing too interesting but the game makes up for it. It takes place in the way future and the humans leave Earth as the robots clean up the trashed earth. That's about all they tell you.
I highly recommend this game cause I grew up with it and I still love it to this day.

Hands-down favorite game for the Sega Genesis system(s). With seemingly endless and intricate (but not boring) levels, countless amounts of strange enemies and bosses, phenominal gameplay, great music and graphics, it's almost as if the creators of Megaman and Earthworm Jim all got together and decided to make something new (honestly....how else would you be able to come up with a self propelled fire-exstinguisher with a beartrap for jaws?).

Although it lacks a savegame function, it's "short" enough (16 levels - I think... - including the final boss) to be played through and beaten in about 45 to 90 minutes. All in all an excellent game, and an absolute must-have if you're a Genesis fan.

  Excellent platformer/shooter
Review created: 01/23/07

Top-notch shooter starring a green, robotic character. The stages are large and full of extra secrets, and yet they're never overwhelming or tedious. The action is very satisfying, thanks to perfect controls and many different forms that Vectorman can morph into. There are some neat bonus stages and bosses are a treat. The acm graphics really push the Genesis, and the techno soundtrack is impressive. Blue Sky made a great all-around game.

  Vectorman
Review created: 05/06/06

This game is a great classic comparable to MegaMan and Sonic the Hedge Hog. More remeniscient of MegaMan than anything else this game is a wonderful addition to any sega collection. With average graphics but intense game play and interesting characters the game is a beautifully mastered "shoot 'em up" game. With jump jets energy weapons, power ups, diverse levels, and bouncy character construction Vectroman is a great game.

Pros:
Great graphics and animation; good level design; fun as all get-out

Cons:
Tough!

In terms of visuals, this may be the most impressive Sega Genesis game ever made. Vectorman, a 1995 release from BlueSky Software, is your familiar, side-scrolling platform shooter, but the thing is absolutely beautiful. The levels are detailed, the characters are large and the animation is very smooth. It's hard to believe this is just a straight Genesis game, in fact. In fact, this thing rivals some of the stuff made for the Sega CD and the 32-bit hardware add-ons for the Genesis. Fortunately, this game is fun as heck, too. The storyline is fairly ridiculous, but no one should be surprised..

Pros:
blast blast

Cons:
kaboom kaboom

Vectorman was one of those games in my brothers collection that I have owned so many times in so many collections. I own Vectorman in Sega Smash Pack for the PC, along with it in Sonic Gems, and of course the infamous Sega Genesis Collection also has a Vectorman port. But I have yet to really beat the game so I decided to do a little playing on both the PS2 and Sega Genesis games the PS2 allows you to save and the Sega Genesis has easier to follow cheat codes. Of course the game really doesn t give you an ending if you put in a cheat code. Story. In the future the earth is trash and humans...
