Vault: Def Leppard Greatest Hits by Def Leppard (CD, Oct-1995, Mercury)

Greetings...my name is Floyd Turtle. I'm confined to a wheelchair. I first met Def Leppard, in 1980, when they were on their FIRST World Tour of the HIGH AND DRY album. I couldn't get backstage in San Francisco...so I started talking to roadies who were outside, loading up the groups' equipment. One of them told me that the fellow in the silver jacket (at the top of some steps) was their manager. With pen and cassette inserts in hand, I called to him and he came down the concert steps and I asked him if I could get their autographs. He said, "wait here" and he came back in about 15 minutes, with the inserts signed by all of the band members...Joe Elliott, Richard Allen, Peter Willis and Rick Savage. I then asked the manager if I could meet them. He replied that they were busy, getting ready to board their bus to go to another venue in the San Francisco Bay Area. I asked him which (of the many) busses they would be getting on...and he pointed to a bus and gave me permission to wait by it. As soon as they rushed toward the bus, I held out my hand and shook hands with each of them. I asked Joe Elliott where they were headed next, and he said, Santa Cruz. I asked him if I could come to the concert and he said "sure" and told a girl to put my name on the guest list, plus 2...meaning a total of 3 backstage passes. The next night, I banged on the
backstage door and was let inside with two girls who came with me.
They rocked my world and after the concert, while backstage, a girl approached me with a shopping bag full of squirt guns...and asked me if I wanted one. I declined, but all of the band members took one or two guns and had a great squirt gun fight. You must remember, that back in 1980, they were playful teenagers and that was their way of cooling off, after 90 minutes of rocking hard.
Richard Allen came out to my van...but that was short-lived as some fans saw him
in my van, and he decided to go back in the concert, before he got mobbed. He did have a chance to give me his 'phone number and address in Drunfeld, England.
I called Richard Allen, in Drunfeld, 26 DEC 1984 and he told me that they were working on the Hysteria album and that he was "really tired". Six days later, we got the news that he rolled his 1984 Corvette and lost his left arm. The world was devistated. I had sent Richard a Christmas card and he got it the day
he went home from the hospital. He read it and thought about me and said to himself that 'Floyd is in a wheelchair, yet it doesn't stop him from doing what he wants'...so he decided, then-and-there that he wasn't going to give up and h a custom-made set of drums (kit) built. As we all know...Def Leppard is still rocking the world, 22 years later.
Their music is legendary. I've met AC/DC, The Pretenders, Ronnie James Dio, Ratt, Krokus, Blue Oyster Cult, Lita Ford, Twisted Sister, Judas Priest, Annie Lennox, Mahogany Rush, Pat Benatar, The Everly Brothers and countless other groups...but Def Leppard is my favorite. If I ever wrote a book about all the great groups that I've met, you can bet that the best chapter would be about these wonderful guys. They are the most down-to-earth rockers on the planet. Vault is the-best-of-their-best. Buy it...you'll love each and every song. You
can't just listen to it once. Most of their songs tend to "hit home" with each and every one of us. The song "Photograph" was written about Marilyn Monroe. I'm sure you'll enjoy this CD immensely.

This is an incredible album. There is not one bad song on it. you can listen to it over and over and over and over and it never gets dull. There are a few unreleased songs as well.

Every song on this CD is a good one. You will jam out to this toons like you did when you where 16. Photograph, by far my favorite Def Leppard tune- still rocks like it did back then....a must have for any 80's rocker!

This is my FAVORITE CD that was ever made! I listened to it in High School and it never left my Cd player. A few years back my car was stolen and Def Leppard went along with it. I never was able to find it again until I checked on eBay. I recommend this Cd to anyone that loves classic rock!

I bought this cd because it was titled like new and in great condition, and it is. I am very happy with the CD and it shipped fast too.

Some risks in the CD make a difference while reading on my laptop and it is unfortunate because even like this one.

Have been looking for their music to add to my iPod with no luck. Decided to just purchase the CD. Very happy with it and the quality. Received it in the mail in just a couple of days.

I love Def Leppard in the 80's and still love them today! This CD has some of their best songs on it and it makes it easier than trying to change several different CD's just to hear your faves!

Being a child of the 80s it was just natural to fall in love with Def Leppard. I now have the most awesome adrenialine fueled songs on the Vault. When you feel like jamming or want to sit back and feel the incredible energy that is Def Leppard, then this cd is for you.

Def Leppard is one of my favorite bands. Love their music. I had the cd 3 years ago and it got stolen along with all the other cd's I had. Trying to get them all back some are unreplacable. maybe have good luck on ebay with those.

I like that I have all my favorite DL songs without having to get all the albums. It saves time and money.

My husband enjoyed this cd he really likes this one because it has a lot of the songs he likes so again thank you

The first two songs play fine, but the rest of the CD skippes and you cant hear any of it!!! It was in a sony case when I got it and I was really looking forward in getting this CD. It didn't cost much,so i'm glad about that! I just really wish it played its got great songs on it!!

I have all of these songs on vinyl and was wanting to collect them to disc. I was able to pick this up and I am not disappointed. This a very strong recording of these songs. Now that I have it on my computer my teenage kids have put it on their ipods and are now Leppard fans. Strange how it all comes back around!

I am biased of course as I am a HUGE fan. This CD has all of my personal favorites. Even those I thought were less popular. I Love it, love it, love it!!!

Love the CD because I love Def Leppard. I have had to make a copy to play because the original has several skips in it.

CD was used in excellent condition. Shipping was fast. Only afforable way to get "Bringing On The Heartbreak". CD has all the Def Leppard top hits. Great eBay transaction!

This is what the 80's were all about. Def Leppard ruled the decade and this has all of thier best hits. Especially Photograph, Foolin', and Por Some Sugar On Me.
Tear the knees out of your jeans and rock on.

Seriously LOVE this cd. I only wish it had Pyromania on it. Great song selection although missing the one other great song that was quite a bummer. I like how the songs were listed in the order they did.

Like it because it was Brand New...Shipped fast to my home so I did not have to leave to shop for it. Price was a good price for it....No Dislikes
