Wonderful photos that illustrate what does and doesn't work in creating "faux" chenille. I love that she can laugh at her own mistakes and show us how the ugliest of our fabrics (and the questionable fabric content ones as well) can find a beautiful home in one of these items.
I didn't even know this technique existed and now I find it addicting. Her instructions are excellent and easy to follow. Once you learn the technique you could apply it to almost any "pattern". Yes...the clothes are a bit dated (Think "working girl") but if you can see beyond that you will be thrilled. I picked up my copy in a flea market for only $4 - but it is definitely worth its' full cover price.

  Chenille Techniques

I am new to the art of chenilling fabric. I made a jacket in a class and was inspired to try and do my own thing. Of course I was hoping there was someone out there who could give me new ideas. This book is it! Great color photos and examples. Great ideas for working with different kinds of fabrics and even adding trims! There are patterns included (you have to draw them out) with very detailed instructions. You can use any of the great ideas in this book and apply them to any kind of project you can dream up. The styles are a little dated in this book, it was printed in 1997, but as I said earlier you can apply the techniques to any current pattern of your choice. I now have four books on chenilling and this is definitely my favorite! I consider it a great find! Look for this book - you won't be sorry!
