John Carpenter's Vampires
A blood sucking good time. One of the best Vampire films ever made. Vampire fans rejoice! This movie rocks!
I really enjoyed this movie the first time I saw it, and I still enjoy it today. James Woods is great as usual and The Baldwin is good as well. The real scene stealer is Thomas Ian Griffith as Jan Valek (The Bad-*** Vampire)
Vampires has a ton of action, violence, and gore. Any Vampire fan will enjoy this film immensely.

I read the book BEFORE I saw the movie, which is usually a huge mistake. Not in this case. The book was good, but not exceptional. The MOVIE, was exceptional. James Woods is brilliant and plays the role of the angry and world-weary vampire stalker to perfection. The story has some very good twists on vampire lore for those who love vampire stories. What makes this story so entertaining and utterly watchable is James Woods' performance and the special effects. Well worth the price of ownership. Nice gritty feel to the movie overall. No HUGE scares, but packed with action sequences.

If you like vampire movies, you'll want this one in your collection. This one has a very different flavor to it. This is about a vampire hunter and his team that go after the undead with a brutal, down-and-dirty, no-holds-barred attitude. A lot of fun!

Lot's of blood and killing.That's cool.The dvd was not in that good of shape that was not good.I like movies a lot but in good shape not that look like something that a dog ate for lunch.Could not get it anywhear eles for that price.

Nice to watch once but over the top almost has vampires as the victims with hill billy killers trying to torture them. Weak double crosses, poor plot and subplot but still it has nice visual effects as is good as a vampire hunt movies go.

I think James Woods did nothing but this in 1998. It's some of the best trash ever recorded. And BUFFY would be so proud. This is a hardcore, Vatican-hired vampire-slayer merecenary (Woods' protagonist) who has done some great films, but this is a film unlike any other,ever. It's a tribute to commitment. And his team shows it. It's damn fine. I own only a few movies. Proud to have this one. Based on a fun book, too.

VAMPIRESI liked Vampires. James Woods as always is great and With him as a slayer, What could be better? It's an easy story. The slayer kills the main vampire to save the day. There's just enough twists and turns to keep it interesting and I like it enough to watch it again and again.

The movie is a tremendous horror/action type movie. I have it on vhs but i'm 'downsizing' my shelves--dvds make more sense! My wife goes 'nutz' over her vampire movies and this is truly good. The only problem I found in it was there is too much profanity,(G#&D*%$, J%#$# C#$*%#) those two phrases make it seem like ice water is running up my spine. They insult my Lord and Savior!Other than those phrases the movie is great!
