The Vacuum Diagrams is a collection of short stories that begins thousands of years in our past and moves forward to millions of years in the projected Xeelee future.
These stories touch on many of the ideas and plots that are in the four books that Baxter wrote that center on the Xeelee universe (Raft, Flux, Timelike Infinity and Ring).
The Vacuum Diagrams makes a lot more sense if you read the other books before you read this one.
Baxter's Xeelee universe is a wonderful place that is full of great science fiction and full of imagination and wonder.
I highly recommend all of these books, especially if you love hard core space adventures.
