A back-up reference

Learning a software through a book can be easy to some people, but not to me. Sometimes I even wonder why we need to have a book to learn a software. If this software is important enough to have a book published, I bet their online help and tutorial section are well established.
In fact, I learned SPSS by myself through the manual that came with it, the online help content, and trial-and-error. Of course, my university also has video that shows us the steps to produce certain statistics using SPSS. This book serves as a good back-up if you want to search for certain content, but personally I think that the help functions on SPSS (I'm using the newest version of graduate pack) are good enough to show you how to generate different results you want. Among the help functions, the statistics coach has been helpful to guide me through different options to pick the particular function I need to generate the output or graph I want.
Again, everybody learns in a different way. If you are attending traditional classes, this book is a must when you attend the lectures. If you are technologically-inclined, then give the help function a shot.
