The Frugal Woodworker

If a dumpster loaded with scrap lumber makes you crazy, if you've been known to bring home stray planks, if your mom told you that waste makes the angels weep, this is a book for you.
The author takes it for granted that you have some experience with basic woodworking and a decent collection a hand and power tools. The 13 plans in the book are not too complicated. You're not going to slap together a Duncan Phyfe sideboard here.
The important idea here is that not all scrap wood needs to be turned into mulch. Kerry Pierce shows you that using your ingenuity and imagination you can whip up some minor miracles. It also appeals to the tightwad in some of us to remember that the wood does not cost you a cent.
There are some special problems in working with this kind of "unwanted" wood. The advice for dealing with them is clearly explained and comes from experience. Safety precautions for the woodworker and the tools are clear and to the point.
Whether you're an environmentalist or a cheapskate or a little of both you'll find something in this book to give you ideas.
