Up! by Shania Twain (CD, Nov-2002, 2 Discs, Mercury Nashville)

I've purchased Shania Twain CDs prior to 1994, long before a majority of listeners teeter-tottered w/a variety of different genres and recognized Shania Twain as a serious formidable artist. Friends & family used to laugh at me and mock me whenever I sang along with her songs in '94; now even the men sing her songs.

In one short year in '95 when The Woman In Me CD came out, Any Man Of Mine made it even more cool to be country. This became especially true when Shania met controversy over her midriff showing on the Any Man Of Mine music video and was snickered at as an overpaid lap dancer when she made the Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under music video. She pushed music video styles up more than a notch and a half.

Fast forward - the "Come On Over" CD prompted thousands of romantics to choose "You're Still the One" and "From This Moment" as their wedding song or just a special song chosen by as "their" song.

When the CD Up! was released, some came as a special 2-CD Special Edition set of the (RED CD)carrying Pop/Rock arrangements and the (GREEN CD). The (RED) Pop/Rock CD is so refreshing because even though the lyrics, music and style was all Shania, all the songs had a different melody and various tempos, with complicated arrangements of certain sound effects that added that special oomph to all her songs. The fact that every single song released on her four latest CDs was penned and arranged by Shania and her reclusive husband, Robert John "Mutt" Lange, is phenomenol to an avid music listener like me who owns close to a thousand CDs, if not there already. I marvel at the recording geniuses on Shania's CDs who mix these recordings w/sound effects so it works where it is most important - the listener's ear and heart. When you listen to this CD, you will recognize all these factors - even if you were not previously a Shania fan. I truly like and appreciate every song on this CD because listening to any of her songs is quite uplifting, I can repeat the CD over and over and not get tired of any of it. Take the time to view Shania's music videos for what appears to be simple songs with complicated arrangements and you will be captivated. The icing on the cake for the Up! CD is the mix of the COUNTRY VERSION (Green CD)which is so much fun to listen to as you pick out the steel guitars and fiddles, injected just to pitch that country flavor. It is my opinion that if you enjoy listening to and truly appreciate Shania Twain on the Up! Pop/Rock (Red CD), then once you listen and enjoy the Country (Green CD), you may, just may, become a Pop/Rock/Country teeter-totter. Just to note, my purchase of this CD on eBay was to replace my stolen Up! CD which I had purchased since its release in 2002.

I have the latest Shania "Greatest Hits" CD, which covers hits The Woman In Me, Come On Over, Up! CDs & four new songs included, since its release in 2004. "I Ain't No Quitter" is FANTASTIC!!! What a treat to find an artist whose lyrics make sense because you could almost apply it everywhere and whose singing abilities is all her own - no copying here - and with killer looks, to boot.

If you don't already own the Up! CD, get one NOW, perhaps on eBay. If you can get the Red/Green 2-CD Special Edition, you have to pick it up - you will not be disappointed.

I really like this CD...I am a big fan of Shania's and wanted her newest hits to add to my collection of her CD's. Would recommend it to others considering buying this CD- lots of great, new songs on it!!

I have the DVD for the concert she put on in Chicago and love it so I wanted the CD so I could listen to it while I was "In my Car", which is a song on this CD. The price was right and I love Shania Twain's music. I would recommend it to anyone who likes Shania Twain or just likes country music.

It was a treat for me. I had gone to the concert a couple of years ago and bought it for a friend. So, I decided I wanted to buy for me. The seller sent the item soon after I paid for it.

I highly recommend this seller. They sent the cd very quickly and it was in great condition just as they advertised. Half.com is a very good place to buy used and new cds.

I bought this because I saw the concert on TV and really liked the music. I do
not usually like "country" music as a group of music, but this is the kind of CD I think everyone would like. It comes with a country version cd and a more rock/pop version cd of the same songs and with 19 tracks on each, there is alot of music. My young daughter loves it too and it has no bad language which is good for her, too. It is definately one of my favorite CD's!

I have never been much of country music fan, but when I heard Forever & For Always, it became one of my favorite love songs. The rest of the songs on my favorites list are R & B and Classic Rock. After buying this CD, I also bought an autographed copy of it which is displayed across from my 1960 Eddie Mathews Strat-O-Matic card. I also bought the UP Live in Chicago DVD, The Platinum Collection DVD, and Come On Over CD. If you enjoy Shania Twain or the Country/Pop style, I would recomend this CD.

I bought this Cd because i got it for a good price. The quality was good and was the songs on the cd.

I wanted to replace my lost copy of Shania Twain's "Up "CD. I ordered through MICHAEL DUFF. I PAID FOR THE ITEM BUT HAVE NEVER RECEIVED IT. I e-mailed him directly several times. He only responded to the first saying "it would be sent on Thursday". That was in October.

Makes me cautious about using e-bay.

I am a huge fan of Shania so I really enjoy this CD! She has such spunk and excitement in her songs. Her songs I'm sure bring strength to otherwise weak or intimidated women and I think that's wonderful.

really enjoy her music. Like her style and her input into her music. She appears to really enjoy singing and the songs she sings.

I had this CD when it first came out and loved it. Now I have it again and it is still fun! I wore my last ones out, and I think I will run this one down too! You should buy and listen to it, it is really good SHANIA TWAIN work, not like everything else you have heard from her on the radio.

I bought this CD because I wanted the song "It Only Hurts When I'm Breathing" and the jerk I bought the CD single from on Ebay never sent it to me (but I won my claim against him). Also, I like many of Shania's other songs, some of which I have sang myself, and it was just time to get a greatest hits collection of hers.

I PAID FOR THIS CD AND THE SELLER NEVER SENT IT TO ME. THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME PURCHASING ON EBAY.I PURCHASED FROM TWO SELLERS THAT DAY. ONE WENT WELL AND I RECEIVED THE PRODUCT,BUT THIS SELLER DID NOT MAIL ME THE CD BUT THE MONEY WAS TAKEN OUT OF MY PROPAY ACCOUNT. This cd is in my computer, my home stereo, my car and my mp3 player! I never get tired of listening to it...and I'm lucky enough to have the dual disc set with country and pop styled versions of the same tracks. Awesome!!

I bought this to replace my own. I love this set and it was a great price even with shipping costs, and I love that I do not have to drive any where to look for things - they come to my door.

I had never bought a Shania Twain cd before, not really caring for her early nashville music, but I really liked the songs she and husband Mutt Lange wrote and produced on this cd "Up". Her ballads are top notch. I have become a big fan of Shania's -she is a talented, hard-working and beautiful woman who I hope will keep filling the world with her fun and beautiful music.
