I saw this movie about 27 years ago at a neighbors house with my husband. I couldn't leave until I saw the whole thing. My neighbors AND my husband fell asleep, because I just had to see what was going to happen.
I can relate to this woman so much, and back then with the company I kept I thought there was something wrong with ME, but as I watch it today, I can see it all differently.

) If you are a teacher, this movie is for you! After forty-one years of teaching, I can say that this is one of the few movies about a teacher's experience that truly resembles reality. In fact, much of what I saw in this film inspired me to continue on in my worst moments. Aside from this, and, in fact, aside from certain tragedies within the dramatic action, much of this movie is truly hilarious! I searched for years to find this film.

Up The Down Stair CaseExcellent movie. Sandy Dennis is superb as a school teacher in a low income Boston nighborhood. If you liked the movie "To Sir, With Love", then I'm sure you will love "Up The Down Stair Case". This was a movie that was way overdue for release on DVD.
