Backed by a top-notch cadre of session musicians, teen heartthrob David Cassidy and easy-going matriarch Shirley Jones offer up both hits--namely the boisterous "I'll Meet You Halfway" and the thoughtful "Doesn't Somebody Want to Be Wanted"--and excellent album tracks, including "You Are Always on My Mind" (not to be confused with the Willie Nelson tune) and "Lay It on the Line," one of Cassidy's first ventures into writing his own songs.
