Along with all of UT2003's game modes and maps, UT2004 will be released with vehicles, new weapons, two new game modes, and more new maps. The popular Assault mode from the original Unreal Tournament makes a welcome return to the series. The game mechanics remain the same: one team attacks by completing a series of objectives, while the other team must prevent them from succeeding. The new Onslaught mode is best described as connect-the-dots, where players compete to take over neutral nodes and establish bases in strategic locations. Obviously I wouldn't even reccomend this game to anyone under 14 because the amazing graphics, violence, and some language make this game look very real. There is plenty of options to choose from in this game and is sure to keep you entertained for a while. Review ID: 10000000002171092 Was this review helpful? The core game is a sci-fi shoot-em-up, but there are 1000's of scenareos, mods, and customizeable content available FOR free on the web that allow you to tweak the game to your heart's delight! In the game you use various guns to beat the other players more than they kill you. It gets pretty boring and repetitive, but I guess if you like shooting things up then you may enjoy it. The graphics are well done and rather realistic making it one of the biggest reasons it is inappropriate for unmature audiences. Review ID: 10000000001676426 Was this review helpful? Report this review Review created: 03/28/04 by: theuerkorn -- a member of Epinions Pros: Challenging fun, great variety of arenas and vehicles, simplified controls, not streamlined, multiplayer Cons: Merciless violent (at full gore), not exactly educational Have you ever heard of a game before (or any product for that matter) with a 2004 in its name that actually released in 2004 too? Fans of UT2003 (which was released end of 2002) had to wait a long 18 months for this one. However, it was worth the wait and here is why ... Quick Orientation: Objective of the Game Key Features How does it play? However, Unreal Tournament is everything the name implies, a tournament taken to the extreme. Here the main. Cons: Atrocious online play, ineffective weapons, poorly designed maps, and virtually non-existent single player mode. Considered by both fans and critics to be one of the juggernauts among first person shooters in today's marketplace, the "Unreal Tournament" series returns in 2004 with a decidedly been there, done that feel. Atari and Epic Games have crafted a fun, reasonably entertaining game with many strengths; it's just that besides some minor gameplay tweaks and a few new maps and modes, there's nothing groundbreaking about this installment. There isn't anything particularly wrong with the game; the graphics will wow, the sound is crisp, and there's a plethora of game modes, but if you've played this... That s what I ve done with Epic games by purchasing every Unreal title that s ever been released. To be honest, Epic has only let me down twice (Unreal Review ID: 10000000007061200 Review created: 03/28/04 by: express15_99 -- a member of Epinions Pros: Excellent graphics; amazing sound; hyper-fun multiplayer gaming. Cons: Needs a patch (or two) to fix quirks; In need of more maps for Onslaught. I haven t been an Unreal fan for that long. My first Unreal game was Unreal Tournament 2003 for the PC back in 2002. This was only a year after I jumped into PC gaming, and boy was I amazed at what I saw when I purchased this now-buried game. The lush environments, the pixel-perfect character models, and the amazing array of weapons put all console shooters to shame. I jumped into the Unreal world for a few reasons, but the biggest one was because of what my colleagues said. Now, with the release of UT 2004, the predecessor has been swept under the carpet by Epic and Atari because it just... Cons: Too much like UT 2003, even though that was a great game,No real singleplayer. INTRO: Whatever each year is remembered for in terms of pc gaming there is no doubt that 2004 will be the year of the First person shooter. No other year in the history of pc games have so many huge name shooters appeared. Weve seen Battlefield Vietnam, Far Cry, Painkiller, Splinter cell-2. We will most likely also see the titans Doom-3 and Half life-2 surface later in the year, and Now Im about to tell you about the other one, Unreal Tournament 2004. Unlike the other shooters Unreal 2004 is an arena style game so there is no storyline or driven singleplayer, its all about the arenas, and the.
