Sure, there are other survival manuals out there, but this one is the textbook the United States Air Force Para-Jumpers use to learn their craft. These are the elite folks who perform Combat Search and Rescue! Pilots also use this as their primary survival reference.
As you scan through this manual, you'll notice that it has a worldwide focus. Our pilots and those who rescue them must be prepared to survive and to operate in any climate, using only the items they have at the crash site and those they can find where they land.
Ever wonder how to make a teepee using a parachute? What are the survival methods to purify water? What are the contents of standard USAF survival kits, and how are they to be used? What about air-ground signals? Is survival mostly an attitude? What plants can be trusted for food in the wild? What can I eat if I'm downed near the seashore? ...and on it goes.
This is a superior survival guide to all the others out there -- and I have them in my library. Do you believe the Army's Survival Guide is better? Just open them side-by-side, and I know that you'll agree the USAF has done a more complete job in every respect.
I'm amazed this material was released to the public, but since it's available, grab this manual while you see it!
