Uniden TRU9460 5.8 GHz 1-Line Cordless Phone

This is a great little phone that has made my life easier. I can assign specific rings to family members and friends, business associates, and I can set it so that unwanted callers don't ring at all. Has speaker phone in the handset, intercom, lots of nice features.

I love the features it offers. The intercom, monitoring system (especially with young children in the house), speaker phone, and headset make this phone very versatile and functional. It is capable of handling up to 10 handsets from the main base. (I currently have 6.)

The handset screens are large and easy to read, they show the day and time, Caller ID's, and you can custom program each handset with it's own BANNER DISPLAY, and it's own ringer! It also offers 3 soft keys for easy access to the menu, voicemail, and BACK button to return to the main screen.

It always notifies you when you have a message in voicemail by a red light flashing on ALL the headsets you have registered to the main unit. This feature makes it easy to see if you have missed a call, no matter which handset you are using.

The only thing that is complicated is setting up the phonebook and speed-dials, but once you have the phone book entered on one handset you can copy it to all the other handsets, making it a faster process than having to program every handset separately.

The phones seem to hold a charge for a long time, I have been able to have mine off the charger (just on standby and making calls) for up to TWO DAYS at a time. My old Uniden was barely able to hold a charge off the cradle for 24 hours.

I decided to buy this unit mainly because I had a TRU9480, with 4 handsets and a built in answering system, that seemed to be incompatible with the dongles we have to use for our DSL system. It would only connect to the phone line about 4 out of 10 tries. So after some research I found that the headsets I had would be compatible with this system. Since it only has the main base without any extras I knew it wouldn't interact with our DSL dongles. (We had an older Uniden that had no extra bells and whistles that connected 100% of the time.) So rather than lose out on a great set of handsets and features I purchased the TRU9460 and have had absolutely nothing but great call clarity, great features, and no problems connecting to the phone line. I would recommend this phone system to anyone that likes staying connected with many people in your household/office using only 1 phone line.

Excellant service, quick delivery. The phones are exactly what I wanted. however, I am haveing a problem with the batteries charging fully. I ma not sure if it is the batteries of the bases. Other than that I like the various functions that came with the phones.
I bought these to use at work and each handset must be off the charger for an 8 hour period. This causes us to have to switch them out vefore the previous one is fully charged.
This is an easy fix, I'll just get some backup batteries.

I bought the Uniden TRU9460 5.8 GHz 1-Line Cordless Phone three weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive phone. It has a 1M-pixel camera, video camera, and speakerphone. The NewPhone's size is perfect for carrying in a pocket and the battery has a pretty good lifespan of roughly 4 hours. My only complaint is that the menu system on the phone makes you click four times before you can find someone in the address book, set an alarm, or perform a additional functions. Other phones I've owned have simpler menus and get you to important features easily. Overall, I'd recommend the phone if you're on a budget.

I decided to buy it because in the past I have had luck with uniden phones and ebay. However, I purchased this phone and it cleared my bank on 12/5/08. I have never received the product, no refunds, no communication from the seller at all.
