Sometimes manufacturers get so caught up in trying to shouve every feature possible into a product that it ends up needing customers with degrees to make use of it. This radio is great for a 1st timer, or someone who has limited space to install. I have had one of these for over 5 years now, and it's still going fine. The trick to CB radio is not the radio itself, but the antenna system. ALL (legal) CB radios are limited to 4 watts of power, so this model packs as much power as a $150+ radio. There may be higher power, but illegal for CB, radios out there, but if you want to keep it legal and avoid the seizures and forefitures, stick with the legal power. Anyhow, this radio has all the features you need, squelch, volume and all 40 channels. Why waste money on different "noise reduction" features, I can hardly tell the difference!
