Uniden ELX500 5.8 GHz 1-Line Cordless Expansion Handset

With all of its features and functions, this was meant to be a great phone. The range is adequate, reception and voice quality are very clear, and it is much more convenient than a full size phone.

On the down side, I've tried 3 different Bluetooth devices and none of them work well with this phone, yet they work great with my cheap cell phone. Uniden needs to refine this in future versions. Also this phone is not very durable. Let's face it, with it being so small and mobile, it's going to get dropped once in awhile. After a few innocent drops to the floor, the display went out and the ringer doesn't work any more.

If you're looking for a basic phone, this one has great voice quality, but you can get a much cheaper one to do perform the same function. If you're looking for a fully loaded techno-gadget, this phone has potential, but not the durability that it needs to be successful in the market. Maybe that's why it has been discontinued.

I have the base unit and have two expansion handsets. What I like about this phone is that it is small (like a cell phone), bluetooth enabled, do not need a phone jack for expansion handset. I can also access voice mail from this handset. Great phone.

I love that this phone is small (fits in my pocket when i am outside with my kids). The phone has a room monitor which is great for when my youngest is napping and i am outside with the older two kids. We already have one of these phones and we wanted a second headset. They are easy to charge and easy to use. We have not used the feature that allows you to use your mobile phone account with this phone however i hear it is a really neat feature. The only negative about this phone is that it gets lost in our house because it is so small. THANK goodness it has a feature that allows you to page the phone in order to find it. GREAT PHONE! I highly recommend this phone!

I love the feel of this phone -- it feels just like a cell phone. What I don't like about it is that it is sort of flimsy. If you drop it (I think we dropped one on carpeting), it can break. And since it is a discontinued model, you can't get any kind of service for it. Still, when it works, it is fabulous. Lots of great features, including Bluetooth compatible.

Excellent phone. A lot of options, easy setup. I have this phone for three years and now I ordered extra handset. I like the option to call and speak between the handsets and bluetoot is perfect addition also .
