Uniden Bearcat Pro PC78XL 40-Channels Base CB Radio

I used to have one of these in my old Ford F-150. It worked great for 2+ years in a "harsh" environment, but I had no problems with it whatsoever (I got rid of the CB with the truck). This radio has a few extra bells and whistles with it, such as weather receive, instant channel 9 (for emergencies) and mic-gain. With CB radios, you are limited to the legal 4 watts of power. However, with Amplitude Modulation (AM), the louder you talk into the mic, the stronger your signal will be. Therefore, using the mic-gain will help amplify your voice, giving a stronger signal. I highly recommend this and all other Uniden products!

this was the first cb i bought for my four wheeling truck, it was stolen and ever since i have never had any luck with any other cb's, wish i could afford a new one again

i have this radio and i talk all over the us with it ,i have it peeked to 4watts swing to 28 wattseverbody says this radio sounds like a big base station so for the price it is a great cb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I purchased this Uniden PC78XL 40 channel cb radio for 2 reasons. 1 Uniden has an awsome reputation for building top of the line cb's. 2. I know from experiance that older Uniden radio's were made in the Philippines, and are highly sought after. This radio that I purchased was made in the Philippines, it has great modulation, the reception is great, being able to check your swr's is a big plus, it keep your radio at its best. the bright, dim feature is good for nightime, no anoying bright display lights to distract you. Very easy to operate. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give this radio a 10. I have nothing bad to say about this great, inexpensive radio.

The uniden pc78xl is a well laid out radio, easy to see the control to operate the radio. Nice features, quality, and a great looking radio. Radio preforms as well as any 40 channel radio on the market, as good or if not better then the corba 29's. The 78xl radio is not a radio that has a lot of info on internal mods off the web. All though the 78 is real close to the same boards as the corba 29, but still a little different. CB TRICKS.COM shows some mods on a few uniden, but not much on this model. I have been playing with cb radio for about 35 years and the radios I mainly used were corbas and yeasu. So this uniden came around and got it to see what it was like, so far so good.
