Underworld (DVD, 2004, Special Edition, Full Frame Edition)

Werewolfs vs. Vampires, Predator vs. Alien, Godzilla vs. Godzilla, Batman vs. Spiderman....please spare us any further nonsensical 'matches made in heaven'... so I thought as the film began. It took a while for the full impact of the film to win over my prejudice. The visual delight accompanied the viewer all the way through scenery, costumes, light, camera work and action scene choreography. The pure silvery face of Kate Beckingsdale balanced the elf-in-latex and somehow against all odds elevated her to become the perfect and purest avenging angel of all... It's a film of a genre which, unfortunately, rarely qualifies for Oscar nominations. I'd give the the following: best actress for Kate, best supporting actor for 'Victor', best cameraman, best costumes and scenography, best special effects and best music (the music itself I don't like, but it fits the film to perfection). There's nothing about the film I can fault, every single component: screenplay, direction, actors, scenography, costumes and makeup, action sequences, camera work is perfect in itself and perfect as a whole. I'm under a deep spell.

I really did not have too much expectations of this movie before I watched it but it was a really well made movie. The plot is good and different from your average vampire movies. This one has both vampires and warewolves fighting each other. It is more of a action movie than a horror flick. If you are a fan of action and Kate Beckinsale, watch it. I am waiting for the next sequel to come out.

If you like special effects and all that good technology then this is a great movie. Fantastic. I can't wait for the next one to come out. One clan Vampires one clan werewolves and of course a fight to save man kind and there own kind. One actually is both and it sure will be exciting to see the next movie to see how he turns out.....A must see movie. Enjoyable till the end

This is a really cool movie. In this movie vampires and werewolves (lykins) are enemies. All due to love, long in the passed a lykin and a vampire fell in love, and the elder vampires would not have this for fear of mixing species. So they killed the pregnant vampire.

It has lot of twists, and it takes a little bit to figure out what is going on because this new twist. But is a great vampire/werewolf movie nonetheless.

Who would have thought there was a vampire/werewolf movie that hasn't been done yet? You have to love that.

such a great movie, effects were great for the time. and the story has enough action and horror and romance to keep the plot moving. never get tired of watching this one!

Great action, very good story telling. Special effects were very good. A nice twist on the vampire/werewolf legend.

It all depends on what u like. if you like Sci-Fi movies it is a must see. Another great thing about this movie is that it is a series (3 of them so far) and believe their could be more. If their would be anymore movies then i would be dissapointed. But an overall great movie let alone Series.

this movie is a dark movie but is a fun one to watch, it was a good movie to build off of, as they have done with 2 others out now. 4.5 out of 5

I just watched this movie with my friend 3 weeks back and loved this one and the sequel so much I had to buy them! I love the action but this is a pretty violent film so be warned if you haven't seen it. If you are into vampire, action packed and violent fighting type films this is for you!

Full of action and just down right cool! The action is never ending, some outstanding special effects. Keeps you on the edge of your seat with all the non-stop action.

Was looking all over for this movie and couldn't find. I think it's a great movie, special effects are terrific with an interesting story line.

I love the cinematography, the graphics, the texture of the film, and Kate Beckinsale is not too hard on the eyes either! :)

If you are into the vampire/ wherewolf thing this this is a good trilogy to get into. It has lots of action and a pretty good story line and twist to it.

This was a GREAT movie. I've seen it on TV and really liked it. The action and story line are just awesome. And how will it end..........?? You will have to watch it and find out. Even after that there is another "Underworld" movie out!

What a nice surprise. I great action/thriller movie. I was not expecting the movie to be done as well as it was. The special effects were very good and the acting was well done. I would highly recommend to any fans of this genre of theatrics.

Kate Beckinsale is a kick butt lycan (Werewolf) Death Dealer that has to find her true family past. As a Vampire, she is sworn to uphold the Vampire legacy, but finds herself in turmoil with her (adopted) father Victor, and his practices. This intense sci-fi thriller will leave you wanting more! Hence, Underworld Evolution. This is a cool movie if you like Blade (Wesley Snipes) and other Vampire intense drama movies.

i decided to buy this movie becouse i had the second movie and i wanted to have them both and i really love the movie im into the vampire adn werewolf themes. so thats why i decided to buy this movie

Great Vampires vs Werewolves flick, if you're not expecting cinematic brilliance from a monster movie. The plot didn't ask me to suspend my disbelief too much, and it had reasonable explanations for the supernatural aspects of the story. It was shot n Eastern Europe, Hungary I believe, and the background of the town and outdoors scenes remains interesting after several viewings. The acting is good, very good for a fairly low budget movie, not an Oscar winner, unless the Academy starts a horror category. The characters were believable, and even human in spite of their non human states, and the relationships were concrete.
Worth a view, if you're in the mood for some fun.

I never got the movie. The dopey seller made a mistake. I would buy it just to see Kate Beckinsale strut around! Well worth it!
