Better action, a bit of sex, and gorier R-rated violence make Underworld: Evolution a reasonably satisfying sequel to 2003's surprise hit Underworld. Looking stunning as ever in her black leather battle gear, Kate Beckinsale is every goth guy's fantasy as Selene, the vampire "death dealer" who's now fighting to stop the release of the original "Lycan" werewolf, William (Brian Steele) from the prison that's held him for centuries. As we learn from the film's action-packed prologue, William and his brother Marcus (Tony Curran) began the bloodline of vampires and werewolves, and after witnessing centuries of warfare between them, their immortal father Corvinus (Derek Jacobi) now seeks Selene and the human vampire/lycan hybrid Michael (Scott Speedman) to put an end to the war perpetuated by Victor (Bill Nighy), the vampire warrior whose betrayal of Selene turns Underworld: Evolution into an epic tale of familial revenge. This ambitious attempt at Shakespearean horror is compromised by a script (by Danny McBride and returning director Len Wiseman, Beckinsale's real-life husband) that's more confusing than it needs to be, with too many characters and not enough storytelling detail to flesh them all out. Aspiring to greatness and falling well short of that goal, Underworld: Evolution succeeds instead as a full-throttle action/horror thriller, with enough swordplay, gunplay, and CGI monsters to justify the continuation of the Underworld franchise. If you're an established fan, this is a must-see movie; if not, well... at least it's better than Van Helsing!

wonderful film.. great story! most sequils suck but i loved this one! i would most def recomend purchasing it!!

My advice: if u dont find a good deal at ur local walmart purchase it on ebay for a good price!

I must say, once again, I'm empressed by Underworld. I love Sci-fi Vampire VS Werewolves!!! Kate Beckonsile does a great job doing the macho-wacho female vampire thing. I wonder if they'll have a third? Oh yeah, definitely!!!

I have to admit I was not very impressed with the first Underworld. It seemed goofy and didnt explain much of anything. With that said, the sequel was excellent. There was plenty of story and action. More importantly this movie explained how everything came to be, it explained why the vampires hate the werewolves, why there are vampires and werewolves. I was so impressed with how the sequel surpassed the original that I actually bought it. Final Opinion...Good Buy.

Underworld Evolution, this movie from kept my attention from the beginning to the end. Intense special effects and a well researched story line, you can tell the writers were into the old vampire and werewolf legends and added a surprising twist of their own. Kate Beckinsale played a very passionate "Death Dealer", willing to do anything needed to complete her Job in protecting the coven and destroying the Liken . The action is smooth-running with just enough slowness to elaborate on the the high intensity points. If you like stories about vampires and werewolf's, then I know you will find this movie worth having in your library. I will also suggest that you should see the first one and watch them in tandem to help keep up with the fast storieline.

This movie was a wonderful sequil to the first movie. Although some of the special effects were a bit "out there". It was still worth the money. It put a period at the end of the adventure and didn't leave you with any questions like the first movie did. I would recommend it to anyone who loves action and sci-fi thrillers.

Loved Kate! And I love Vampires! This movie has both along with plenty of action! Great movie! Was just as good as the first movie!

I bought the movie on dvd because I liked the first dvd movie Underworld. I also liked the actors and the movies content. The extended features were very
nice, showing selection of scenes and providing features I like.
I am a SciFi lover in dvds and movies in general.

This movie was very dissappointing. The first movie, Underworld, was much better. Underworld Evolution's plot lacks substance and credibility. For one, Michael who is a hybrid, suppose to kick a$$ but he doesn't. The movie was too much one sided, from the view of the vampire, and it would have been more interesting if the lycan's side were explored like maybe the lycans are not just savage animals. At the end of Evolution, the movie hinted at another sequel and I guarantee you will pass that one up after seeing Evolution.

I am a big fan of Kate Beckinsale but even with her in it, the poor plot could not be overlooked.

Underworld Evolution is the second part in the Underworld series. This movie starts off right where the origional Underworld left off.

Beginning where Underworld finished, Selene and Michael are on the run from the vampires. Being the cause of Viktor's death, Selene can only hope to plea to the last remaining elder, Marcus. However, Marcus has already awakened and has become a more powerful creature than before. Now his only remaining goal is to awaken his Lycan brother, William from his eternal imprisonment. With time running out, Selene and Michael must piece together the final clues to unlock the secrets of their bloodlines and stop Marcus before it's too late.

I love super action thrillers especially Sci-fi's; Underworld: Evolution is among the best production in this genre. The supurp underworld action is 90% non-stop and stupendously unform.

The film acting is not for the aficionados in search of a Shakes-perience however, the acting and performances hold their own well. With Kate Beckinsale as the leading and lovely Vampiress & Diva, whats not to like in this action packed phenonmenon.

UW II is by far developed at a higher level of super creative action animated thrills and vision, when compared to Underworld I. Action although consistently violent is by far filmed in my opinion "par excellence" and so a caveat for adults who are adverse or with weak nerves and the little ones of course, the production was not develolped for the faint of heart and needless to say the family film oriented.

In closing, lets say I am one of those characters who was described as being all thumbs and further was asked to rate this epic phenonmenal action thriller well without question each and every thumb would be facing in the positive direction!

this movie is awsome good action good music good special effects its a good movie to have the part that is good is at the end when michal and selene are fighting the two brthers marcus the vampire and williem the werwolf over all this movie is really good i hope this helps you to buy this movie and enjoy it as much as i do.

Critics are exactly what they sound like...too critical. They think too much and their rating of this movie is a good example of it. This dark vampire/werewolf movie sure doesn't come close to being one of the greatest movies of the year, but it does do what most people want...it entertains! Scantily clad Beckinsale, bloody vampires and werewolves, superhuman beings that tear things apart...Good movie, not the best, but critics need to learn what NORMAL people look for in a movie. 90% of moviegoers want entertainment and "Underworld: Evolution" delivered just that!

Nice filming, does'nt come off as a B film. Good acting. Makes room for a third movie. I bought it because I enjoyed the first movie alot. If you like vampire movies or wearwolf movies or a combonation of both this movie, and its prequal are the movies for you.

my review on this movie is very poor. i ordered this movie on sept. 1st and today is oct. 6th and i still have not received the movie yet.

I never received this product from seller, but yet the money was taken out of my account a month and a half ago. This was a purchase for a birthday present that was never received. It is showing that the seller is no longer an ebay member.

i loved the movie itself. i had the first part and needed the second part, i would absolutely purchase something like this in future.

Everybody knows part 2 usually sucks but I must say lately it seems part 2's at least in horror have been kicking it (Gingersnaps Back for example is better then the first gingersnaps, werewolf movie). Underworld Evolution will not be a disappointment; great special effects and a story line that doesn't rehash everything you've already learned in part one make it very interesting to watch. I think the effects are better in part 2 then the original which wasn't bad itself. I love that the original actors came back to play their roles again. It's also cool to see a female lead be a the strong dark hero in a horror movie. Hope to see a part 3 made, although I don't know how much more story their is to tell.

If you liked the first movie, then this sequel should not dissapoint. Aside from the neccisary cheesy lines and stunts, the movie was excellent.

Iloved the first movie Underworld. So I bought Underworld Evolution to see how the story continues. I feel they did a great job on the outcome of the the movie.

If you liked the 1st one you WILL LOVE this movie. The special effects are great! If you love vampire/liken movies you will love this one!
