Underworld (DVD, 2004, Special Edition, Widescreen Edition)

This is a really cool movie. In this movie vampires and werewolves (lykins) are enemies. All due to love, long in the passed a lykin and a vampire fell in love, and the elder vampires would not have this for fear of mixing species. So they killed the pregnant vampire.

It has lot of twists, and it takes a little bit to figure out what is going on because this new twist. But is a great vampire/werewolf movie nonetheless.

Who would have thought there was a vampire/werewolf movie that hasn't been done yet? You have to love that.

Underworld is a great twist on Vampire and Werewolf movies.

In this movie you have Vampires and Werewolves fighting each other in a death war. The werewolves are portrayed as superhuman, super sized creatures that can climb on walls and move fast. The Vampires are shown as sophisticated aristocratic people that live in a group together.

The vampires use "Death Dealer's", or highly trained hunters to carry the fight to the werewolves. Selene is one of the leaders of these Death Dealers. During a hunt on werewolves she discovers that a long thought dead werewolf, Lucian, is still alive. He is interested in a human named Michael.

The movie then delves into the reasons why Lucian is hunting Michael, and the twisted history of both the vampires and werewolves.

This dark adaptation is a nice twist on the classic vampire/werewolf movies.

I love this movie, it has an excellent story plot, and it is not the typical vampire, and werewolf movie. It is actioned packed from the beginning to the end.The actors are great. It was unpredictable, and very easy to follow. I have it, and watch it often.

I must say that this was definitely different from the usual vampire movies that have been made. What I found as really entrancing was indeed the connection between vampire and werewolf - and to be honest I always did wonder what would happen should a vampire bite a werewolf or vice versa! Now I know! The movie was full of intense suspense and action, the story flowed very well and didn't leave you lost or hanging. A definite must-see for all fellow horror buffs. It will be interesting to see the sequel to this movie!!

Amazing movie. Not enough hype for it though. Kate Beckinsale was a plus. Definetly should check out this vampire movie, if you like this-- you should see Dracula 2000.

This is one of the best films that I have seen in a long time. And to have so many unknow actors starring in it I was really surprised at how exciting it was. You never knew what was going to happen. I really enjoyed Kate Beckinsale and Scot Speedman in their roles. The made the movies come to life. I have watch this movie at least 5 times. I give it 5 Stars.

The movie, as most of you probably know, is about a war that has been going on between werewolves and vampires. And it is THIS that is the primary focus of the plot (as opposed to the vampires and werewolves themselves). The werewolves have been researching their bloodlines and discovered a human who shares a common ancestor with both the werewolves and the vampires. The werewolves seek out this human, and this is noted by Selene (Kate Beckinsale), who decides to make it her mission to discover the importance of this particular human. The movie was in itself pretty incredible. The plot was exceptional, which is not necessarily always the case with most action movies, and the action kept me entertained throughout the movie's entirety. The make-up and costumes were also outstanding, as was the acting. I actually saw this movie twice, Then I had to buy it for myself to add to my very own collection. There really is no letdown here. VERY ENTERTAINING!!!

Kate Beckinsale is one of my favorite actresses. She plays her part to a tee in this SF horror film. Parts of the story are hard to believe but all in all it is a very entertaining film.
