TOOL IS HANDS DOWN 1 OF THE GREATEST ROCK BANDS OF THIS MODERN AURA NOW ALMOST 15 YEARS STRONG. UNDERTOW IS THE CD THAT PUT THEM ON THE MAP.

WAS MAYNARD'S MOST FIERCE CD.
I SEEN THEM LIVE IN CONCERT TWICE AND IF YOU EVER GET THE CHANCE DO.

WHAT MOST KNOW IF A TOOL FAN IF YOU FOLLOW IT.
UNDERTOW WAS SAW RAW BECAUSE IT WAS DEALING WITH THE ABUSE AND THE WRATH OF HIS CHILDHOOD.

HIS FATHER A PREACHER AND THE TORMENT HE PUT HIM THROW.WITH THE ABUSE.
I LOVE EVERY SINGLE TOOL CD.WISH I COULD FIND A LIVE 1 OR THEY WOULD PUT OUT.
BUT THIS CD IS LIKE GOSPEL A RELIGION LIKE IT SAYS ON THE INSERT.FINDING THAT HOLY MEDIUM BETWEEN YIN-YANG!!
INSIDE WAS AT IT'S DARKNESS WITH THE SECRET THIS IS NESCESSARY WHICH THE VISUAL ON INSIDE HE PERFORMED LIVE AND WAS BANNED IN SO MANY STATES.

THEY ARE TRUELY THE DOORS OF OUR TIME. THAT ENLIGHTEN US WITH THIER MUSIC.OPEN YOUR THIRD EYE TO REALMS OF THE MIND YOU THOUGHT WERE HIDDEN.

ALSO PLEASE LET EBAY KNOW IF MY REVIEW OR GUIDES ARE HELPFUL AS I'M WORKING ON MORE REVIEWS AND THEY JUDGE ME BEING 1 BY THAT

I've always been an 80's Queen but more on the "hair band" or "arena rock" side but, when this cd came out, I couldn't stop playing it...or at least the first three songs!....lol

Great album, reminds me of my first year in school. Sober and Prison Sex are reasons enough to get this cd. Buy your Tool here on ebay, you won't find anything but A Perfect Circle (good, but not quite the same). A must have for fans of the genre.

  Great Cd
Review created: 08/29/08

Always wanted this CD and was I right. This is a great band and one of their best albums. Sober and Prison Sex are 2 of their most popular songs. I am looking forward to completing my collection of older tool albums.

  The Beginning
Review created: 04/10/08

This album is where TOOL started. Most of the songs were already made for Undertow when Opiate was made. The style of their music back then, to me had sort of a bluesy type spin on it. With obvious influences like King Crimson. The build of song structure, and the slight change with each measure, make this an interesting and great album to own!

  Undertow: Tool's First Album
Review created: 03/21/08

This is why I first liked them... they were beyond their era...

SONG LINEUP:
1. "Intolerance" – 4:53
2. "Prison Sex" – 4:56
3. "Sober" - 5:06
4. "Bottom" - 7.13 (Tool/Henry Rollins)
5. "Crawl Away" - 5:29
6. "Swamp Song" - 5:31
7. "Undertow" - 5:21 listen (help·info)
8. "4°" - 6:02
9. "Flood" - 7:45
69. "Disgustipated" - 15:47

The band began touring again as planned, with an exception in May 1993. Tool was scheduled to play the Garden Pavilion in Hollywood but learned at the last minute that the Garden Pavilion belonged to L. Ron Hubbard's Church of Scientology, which the band felt clashed with "the band's ethics about how a person should not follow a belief system that constricts their development as a human being".[2] Keenan "spent most of the show baa-ing like a sheep at the audience"

Tool released their first full-length album, Undertow (1993). It expressed more diverse dynamics than Opiate and included songs the band had chosen not to publish on their previous release, when they had opted for a heavier sound.

totally caught up in the undertow!
Review created: 12/21/07(updated 12/21/07)

this is not your typical heavy metal cd at all!this is actually more grunge than metal,"grungemetal",if you will.yeah, there's the obvious influences,(soundgarden, janes addiction, nine inch nails),maybe...BUT,they devour it all,and spit out one hell of an aural assault on your senses.THICK!,RHYTHMIC!,POUNDING!,BASS HEAVY!STRONG VOICE,(at times, haunting!)EVERY SONG IS GOOD!(hidden track is legendary).this is TOOL'S finest moment!it's hard to believe this came out 15 years ago,but not one alt-metal cd since has topped this one!IF YOU DO NOT OWN THIS ONE,do yourself a favor, buy this, put it in your discman, put the headphones on,turn it up,AND LOSE YOURSELF!!IT WILL NOT DISAPPOINT!!

  Undertow, by Tool.
Review created: 12/01/06

Undertow is clearly not Tool's best CD. It is however a decent one compared to all of the other music in the world. To me, Aenima and 10,000 days are their best works and Undertow is probably 4th. But if you don't have this CD, you are obligated to buy it for it does have some good ones on it and if you are a Tool fan, why not. Enjoy!

An Album Of Pure Intensity-A Must Buy!!!!!!
Review created: 04/05/06

Each songs as as much power and soul behind as Opiate, only on this record, Tool now had a larger budget to produce their first full album and a growing fan base. Tool composed some brilliant new songs like Intolernce and Flood, but they were albe to use older songs like Sober and Bottom and make them new.
