Under the Tuscan Sun

Being one of my favorite movies, I watched it on channel 36/ Family and I really enjoyed it. My mother and I watched it and she liked it too, her not really liking these kind of movies often. The movie gave me that warm feeling inside, for Diane Lane portrayed her role as Frances Mayes, a woman that wants romance after a divorce. The cover of the movie tells all, Frances standing by a window that overlooks some of Tuscany, a village in Italy. The movie is pretty simular to the book, but I liked the book more than the movie, most of the time I like the books that the movies is based on more than the movie.
Frances Mayes is a writer that lives in San Francisco. Living happily, she then gets a divorce. She is forced to move out and then moves into an apartment filled with depressed people who also had a divorce.
Then something good happens, her friend Patti (portrayed by Sadra Oh. I just love that name) becomes pregnant, she gives her ticket to Frances called "Gay and Away" in Tuscany.
Going to Tuscany, she decides to live there and she buys a huge villa, hiring a group of men to help her fix it up a bit. The villa, Franches finds out, is pretty special to some people. Like, everyday an old man brings a couple of flowers and puts them in a container of some sort in front of the house on a ledge.
Desperate for romance, she meets a guy named Marchello, on accident. Thinking they had an affair because she had sex with him, she finds out he has a girlfriend.
An adventure of romance takes off when a lot of things start to happen to Franches, involving a wedding, a new love, and much more. The story is genius and this movie is not to be missed. The acting was suberb as it shows that Diane can portray a happy character, but then go to a really sad character. The cover is my favorite part, even though it's just something to look at. The cover gives the watcher a mood of "I want to watch this" because it just looks so beautiful. The saying "Don't judge a book by its cover" does not go along with this movie, because the movie lives up to the cover. This is extremley recommended!
Hope you enjoy!
