I have been a fall out boy fan ever since their garage band days of Chiago. They have a lot of talent and great live but they have never been able to translate the talent into one amazing cd. 2001's "Take This To your grave" was arguably close but lacked a couple other great songs. However, their new cd "From Under the Cork Tree" is one amazing cd. With chart topping solos such as "Dance,Dance", and "Sugar, We're going down" it DEFINTILY equals a great cd. The other 11 songs are amazing such as "XO" and "7 minutes in heaven". This is a must get CD.

First off I would like to say I am a fan of all types of music: hip-hop, country, r & b, and some rock... I saw these guys perform on one of the MTV Award shows 4 or 5 months ago, and thought holy sh*t, these guys are rockin it. So I went ahead and picked up the album, and I'm not going to lie, THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST CD I HAVE PURCHASED IN A LONG TIME!!!! I will even go as far as to say that it surpasses Green Day's American Idiot. I would love to elaborate on what my favorite tracks are, but the are all AWESOME! Song after song, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! I am definitely a fan, I am convinced that these guys are the real deal. I even went and picked up their older stuff, and I was pleasantly suprised that it is just as good!

Fall out boy is a great band and this cd is a great cd. This is one of the few cd I can listen to from start to finish. The only reason it got a 4/5 is it wasn’t as good as Take this to your grave. Which in my opinion is there best cd, But this is still a great cd

  Fall Out Boy

The four members of Chicago's Fall Out Boy came together in suburban Wilmette around 2000. Vocalist/guitarist Patrick Stump, bassist Peter Wentz, drummer Andrew Hurley, and guitarist Joseph Trohman had all been in and out of various units connected to Chicago's underground hardcore scene. Most notably, Hurley drummed for Racetraitor, the furiously political metal-core outfit whose brief output was both a rallying point and sticking point within the hardcore community. As Fall Out Boy, the quartet used the unbridled intensity of hardcore as a foundation for melody-drenched pop-punk with a heavy debt to the emo scene. They debuted with a self-released demo in 2001, following it up in May 2002 with a split LP on Uprising that also featured Project Rocket. The band returned on the label in January with the mini-LP Fall Out Boy's Evening Out With Your Girl, but by this point a bidding war of sorts was already in full swing. Fall Out Boy eventually signed a deal with Gainesville, FL's Fueled by Ramen, the label co-owned by Less Than Jake drummer Vinnie Balzano, but also received an advance from Island Records to record their proper debut. The advance came with a right of first refusal for Island on Fall Out Boy's next album, but it also financed the recording of Take This to Your Grave, which occurred at Butch Vig's Smart Studios compound in Madison, WI, with Sean O'Keefe (Lucky Boys Confusion, Motion City Soundtrack) at the helm. Grave appeared in May 2003, and Fall Out Boy garnered positive reviews for its gigs at South by Southwest and numerous tour appearances. The ambitious From Under the Cork Tree (Island) followed in spring 2005, and Fall Out Boy headed out on tour again

Jay Z Likes Them... So Should You

First and foremost, Fall Out Boy has the longest song titles you've ever seen. Reading them is like scanning the liner notes.

That of the way, what an impressive debut. Look no further than the radio smash 'Sugar, We're' Goin Down' to see what these guys are capable of. The rest of the album is equally impressive. Pay close attention to the lyrics as there's wirey and creative stuff in there that you normally won't notice unlesss you look for it.

As good as the CD is, there's still some room to grow for these guys musically. I think they'll get to that point eventually but they're still young so they've got the time.

Why are these guys so popular?

Wow. Every review on here is 5 stars. I'm gonna guess it's all people who love Panic at the Disco, and watch MTV and MTV2 regularly. It has to be, because a person who actually knows what other music is out there would rate this what I am, one star. Honestly, Dance Dance makes my ears bleed. I can not stand that worthless song. My sister loves these guys, and I hear plenty of them. I'm not just a person badmouthing this type of music. Anyways, if you want to hear a group with a boatload of talent, turn elsewhere. Listen to bands like Shinedown and Rise Against, and listen to a band who understands what making music truly is.

  Excellent sophomore album
Review created: 04/21/09

From Under the Cork tree is an excellent addition to any FOB fan's library. The album maintains Fall Out Boy's unique sound and lyrics while showing the progress that one would expect to see on a band's second album. Patrick Stump's vocals are perfect and original, making Fall Out Boy stand out as one of the original pop-punk banks of the 2000's. Overall, a phenomenal rock album.

Review created: 02/23/09

Fall Out Boy is a great band. Their lead singer/rythem guitarist Patrick Stump has an amazing voice. He also writes the music, which is wonderful. The lyrics written by bassist Pete Wentz, are very real and beautiful. This CD is great and I would recommend it to anyone.

Lyrics and tunes are melodic. We try to buy all Fall out Boy .We like them.Since this is their second studio album they can only climb higher in the charts with more albums and songs. We like the fact that the band seem to be very creative and it shows in the song XO last track. We look forward to what suprising songs they come up with.
