Brilliant recording..the way all live albums should be!

Any big U-2 fan knows this disc well; it is a recording of songs during the WAR tour. What Rattle and Hum was for the Joshua Tree tour, Under a Blood Red Sky is for the War tour. The difference here is the raw, unpolished sound of U-2 at their early days. The band is truly brilliant in all stages, but each one has its own distinct style, sound and flavor. The WAR phase that this album represents highlights the band's raw energy as well as Bono's clumsy lyrics...which, of course, make the progression to poetry around The Unforgettable Fire. This album is high energy, and its renditions of "Sunday Bloody Sunday" and "New Year's Day" are some of the best-known live versions of songs ever recorded. Although the disc is small, meaning there aren't a lot of songs on it, every one is a gem. Don't miss it.
