Undaunted Courage by Stephen E. Ambrose Jr. (1996, Hardcover, Illustrated)

My favorite book, uniquely American true adventure, inspiring education, self-sufficiency, perseverance, and moral character.

I decided to buy this book because I had previously read "This Vast Land" also a book about Lewis & Clark by author Stephen E. Ambrose. "Undaunted Courage" did not grab my attention as much as "This Vast Land" did. "Undaunted Courage" was much more factual with less raw adventure. But if you are a fan of Lewis & Clark and the exploration of the American west you will still enjoy this book very much. Stephen Ambrose is a great author and I have read many of his books. This particular book was not my favorite of his but it is still well worth your time to read it.

Stephen Ambrose is and always will be a favorite writer of mine. he makes the reader feel part of the story instead of out of the book.

The Lewis and Clark adventure was one the greatest adventures of North America. I saw many of the places they found and discribed including the Mountain Gate, and Three Forks last year on a trip to Montana. Just beautiful reading showing the true American Spirit.

Great story that is well written. There is nothing I dislike about the buy or the book. I bought it because it was a book that I wanted to read and at a great price to boot. Reading this book makes me feel as if I was there with Lewis and Clark. I would recommend it to anyone who is a lover of early American history!
