Uncover a T-Rex by Dennis Schatz (2003, Hardcover)

This book is totally cool. Each page is a different layer of a T-Rex dinosaur. Some of the pages are clear so you can see through the page to the next layer. You can see all of the skin, veins, bone, and how they all fit together to make up the dinosaur. It has informative notes on each part as well. It is a fun reference book and science discovery book. It would make a unique gift.

My granddaughter LOVES dinosaurs and this book looked like a nice one when I saw it. The ad picture did not do it justice!!! This book is wonderful!!!! It has amazing pictures, graphics, and text. I was extremely impressed and please with it.
More importantly my granddaughter was thrilled with this book. She is the true "critic" on this one and the only opinion that mattered.
She gave it 2 thumbs up and a triple A+ rating.

I can not say enough good things about this book. Very informative in a fun way that students will learn what they are reading. My 7th grade science class loves this book!! I have had to buy extras so everyone will have a chance to read it!!

If there is a dinosaur lover in the family, then this is the book for them! Beautifully illustrated and fact-filled, this book displays the entire T-Rex through a model that is built right in the middle of the pages! It begins with the skeletal system and slowly builds the dinosaur from the inside out. The pages include information about the skeletal, cardiopulmonary, digestive,reproductive (not graphic~just about egg-laying), nervous, muscular, and the dermal systems. Around the model, there are interesting facts about the different systems of the T-Rex along with comparisons of creatures that live today.

Although the pages are made of thick board (like small children's books), the model in the book is somewhat delicate and shouldn't be used with young children unless supervised. The parts look they would come off very easily and there are quite a few. The age on this book is for 8 and above, but my 4 1/2 year old son is extremely interested in dinosaurs and loves it~It has really peaked his curiosity and wants to soak up more and more information. He practically has this one memorized already!

In the same series by Silver Dolphin Publishing, there are books along the same line that uncover a shark, frog, tiger, the human body, and others. I would highly recommend this series for the young paleontologist or biologist in your family!
