Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (Playstation 3, 2007)

After a pretty rough year with the PS3 losing exclusives and getting crappy games like Lair, PS3 owners have been waiting for something better than average to come out. Can this game finally be the ps3's killer-app.

YES. Uncharted is one of the best games I have ever played.

You play as Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter trying to solve the secrets of his ancestor Sir Francis Drake. After finding Francis's diary in his empty coffins, Nathan is led to an island full of modern day pirates also looking for the treasure.

Players are to scale cliffs and walls, swing on vines and solve puzzles using the Sir Francis' Diary. With mainly a mix of Tomb Raider and Gears of War, Uncharted is probably the most polished game I have ever seen. Drake flinches when he is almost hit with a bullet, he barely grabs onto cliffs, and he slips to the ground when running into cover. Every clip that you drop stays on the ground and does not disappear like most games. Your feet do not go through a dead body when walking on it. Drake's clothes get wet when going in the water. These are just a few examples of how polished the game is. There is also no loading through the whole game except for when you first turn the game on.

You can also unlock stuff like behind the scenes videos, different costumes, unlimited ammo etc.. by getting points getting 100 headshots , killing 10 people by hanging from a cliff, and beating the game. You can also find treasures.

Uncharted is a MUST buy for PS3 owners.


Graphics - 9.5/10
Some of the best graphics and animation I've ever seen

Gameplay - 10/10
Very fun to play. Crazy shootouts, cliff leaping , balancing on logs, sweet hand to hand combat and occasional vehicle sections.

Sound - 9.5/10
Low instrumental music that fits the game perfectly.

Presentation - 10/10
Amazingly polished ,very good cutscenes, music etc

Length - 8.5/10
Average length at about 8-11 hours. But with all the rewards and stuff I guarantee you will be back to play it more than once.
