Classic Weird Al Yankovic! The humor in this movie is Excellent! If you're a fan of Spaceballs, Kentucky Fried Movie, Strange Brew or any of the CHEESY Humor of the 80's, You'll love this movie! Lots of Big Name stars in their early days such as Fran Drescher & Michael Richards who plays an absolutely hilarious Stanley Spidowski the janitor AND HIS MOP!

Humor in slapstick crass filmed in an era when it wasn't accepted. My family (not all members) roll on the floor with laughter.

One of the best movies out there. A great story about an honest, hard working guy (George) with a vivid imagination. A great comedy for the whole family.

  If you like Weird Al...
Review created: 07/13/09

If you like Weird Al, then you will love this. Silly comedy at its finest. I have a 9 year old, 7 year old, and a 4 year old (all boys). I think they watched it 2 or 3 times in the first 24 hours we had it. Again, you have to enjoy that type of so-stupid-it-is-funny humor to appreciate it. It may be a guy thing, because I don't think my wife enjoyed it. Hope this helps!

Yankovich is an over-the-top pioneer. His antics prove worthy of respect and admiration in this brilliantly contrived flick about a public access staion whose original owner won in it a card game. Nice performance from Michael Richards, too.

  Classic "Weird Al"
Review created: 05/04/09

If you like "Weird Al" Yankovic, you'll probably like this movie. It's dumb, silly and poorly acted, but what do you expect from Al? The best part is the TV/Movie parodies contained within the film.

  Great Movie
Review created: 04/03/09

Great movie, I had just seen it and I decided to buy it. Lots of laughs. It's ironic that in the movie the channel 8 CEO was ticked because the UHF channel was beating him in the rankings, and today almost all antenna TV channels are being broadcast over UHF frequencies because of the DTV conversion.

A great film and a wonderful DVD release
Review created: 12/14/08

This DVD is worth the price! After disappearing for several years from the home video market, it's nice to see UHF make a dazzling comeback in this fantastic re-release, complete with commentary from the director and several stars of the film (including Yankovic himself), a hilarious reel of deleted scenes, and enough extras to keep true fans of this lost comedic masterpiece satiated for some time to come. So grab your favorite spatula, take a drink from the firehose, and tune in channel U-62 for hours of stupid and irreverent fun!

  Total classic!
Review created: 11/10/08

I bought this movie because it is a classic. Anyone that hasn't seen it totally needs to. Weird Al has done amazing things in his life, and I think this is one of the best. The characters in the movie are so good, all act as good as the best. One weird music scene in the middle of the movie, which is mostly CG, doesn't really seem to fit too well. I guess for it's time the CG is amazing, so I'll give them that, but I think they could have omitted it.

  UHF - DVD
Review created: 09/19/08

This is a totally full-on gag based movie, starring the one and only "Weird" Al Yankovic. Based around the premise that "Weird" Al has become the station manager of a perpetually failing local UHF station, this movie gets to skewer many topics; most of which seriously date the movie, though it honestly takes nothing away from the comedy; in fact, it makes it even cornier and cheesier. Most of the topics were probably already dated well before the movie even started production, so... Also of note is the pre-Seinfeld appearance of Michael "Kosmo Kramer" Richards; who puts in a completely hilarious and unrestrained performance as the stations star and janitor.

The movie caries a PG-13 rating, but I haven't been able to figure out why. I assume it would be due to several instances of VERY comical violence (this is Looney Tunes level violence here). Unless you are completely against any sort of violent acts, I would definitely say this is suitable for kids; there aren't any swear words that I can think of; no nudity or sexual situations, and it is just so incredibly cheesy. The story is simple, but definitely a good deal more substantial than just a manner to get from gag to gag.

I don't think I will ever tire of this movie...

  UHF--WEIRD AL
Review created: 07/23/08

This is typical Al and his mind blowing jumps from reality to "Out there". Only Al would drop a wiener dog in a bowl of punch at a dinner party!! He always has a sight gag in there somewhere so don't go away or you will miss something. Ironic twist in the end when Channel 62 is saved by the villian's own arrogance to a man in need by giving him a penny. Fran Dressher (The Nanny)is good as the female station do-it-all. Her nasially speach is just annoying enough to ad to the bounce the film showed. Billy Barty plays a savy camera man and the whole cast shows what hard work can do. I recommend this with a bowl of popcorn and your comfortable clothes wrapped up on a couch with.. Wait. Just enjoy the movie. It's funnnny. Dreamers unite!!

  UHF, a childhood memory
Review created: 07/07/08
by:

Wierd AL and Michael....Kramer from seinfelt are genius in this movie. I think(don't care if i'm right or wrong) that wierd AL invented the idea of the media parody.Otherwise this movie is a great memory from my childhood and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves crazy-ass slapstick comedy!!!
I also think Fran Dresher is actually funny in this movie, unlike her show.
Nuff Said!
